""1970s-1980s built in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), the former east Germany. And although all the lables are in english, it was sold to the USSR mainly, sounds very much like well-known SOLINA! There was also a version in the same look, but without the string section. Named Vermona Piano..."

VERMONA SYNTHESIZER SN 210641 VINTAGE ANALOG GDR DDR GERMAN

"We have little information about this synth except that it is one of the only analog synthesizers produced by German music company Vermona throughout the 1980's. It is a 2-VCO monophonic analog synthesizer. It has most basic analog edit parameters. A 24 dB/oct analog VCF (filter) with 4 knobs (Brilliance, CutOff, Resonance, Contour), a single LFO to modulate the VCO or VCF sections and a typical ADSR VCA envelope. There are preset VCF and VCA settings as well as a Manual mode..."

"Recently serviced at Switched On in Austin, TX. Works great! This is a rare German synth produced in the 80's. The unit itself is on the light side and therefore more portable than most vintage analog synths. If you haven't heard these, they have two VCOs and are capable of producing solid analog bass and leads. You can also get those shitty awesome early analog string sounds similar to the korg ms-20 string sounds that required a patch bay configuration. The portamento is of course a plus and the LFO is interesting. Cosmetically I would give it an 8. Its a solid and portable vintage analog synthesizer..."

PAiA Proteus 1 Analog Programable Patchable Synthesizer

"The PAiA Proteus1 was the first analog synthesizer to feature patch memory stored in 16 locations. If that weren't cool enough it sounds similar to the Pro-One as it uses the same Curtis Electronic Music analog chips (CEM). But wait...there's more! The Proteus has more in common with an ARP 2600 than a Pro-One due to the clever rear patch bay panel. It turns the Proteus into a modular synth and since it uses 1V/Oct protocol, you can easily interface the keyboard into your modular setup. There are jacks for: VCO1 pitch, transpose, out. VCO 2: FM, transpose, out, pulse width control, hard sync and soft sync ins. VCF: cutoff frequency, resonance, out, FX send and receive. Preset advance plus Keyboard CV and gate outs. MOD: LFO and ADSR. Hi and low outs. I had it modified by Scott Lee at PAiA to add a CV and Gate I/O so I can drive it with a MIDI>CV converter, sequencer or another CV/Gate keyboard. Scott has calibrated the synth twice for me in the last 10 years. Last time was about 2 years ago. It is in excellent condition and is truly a collector’s item..."

4 voice polyphonic modular test - MCV24 and one A-107

4 voice polyphonic modular test - MCV24 and one A-107 from N K on Vimeo.

"a test of a polyphonic modular patch using four VCOs but only one VCF/VCA, a Doepfer A-107 Multi-type Morphing Filter. I used an MCV24 MIDI/CV/Gate converter which allows for several polyphonic modes. Patch settings were altered during the recording. Accompanying sounds were added after the modular recording. All notes of the polyphonic chord were triggered at the same time, programmed in a sequencer."
