EML ElectroComp 101

According to the listing, this one's been updated for 1volt per octave to support integration with most modern modular systems.

"EML 101 which was serviced 3 months ago by Ed Miller of Synthesizer Repair here in Los Angeles. The synth works and sounds incredible. It's one of the sickest and nastiest sounding analogs ever made. It does not disappoint anyone who uses it. I just gave the 101 a full test drive and it is 100% fully functional. The item is used and is being sold as is. There is some cosmetic wear and tear on the case as you can see, since it's over 30 years old. I've keep the synth in pristine condition, and pampered it as much as possible. I've owned the unit for over 10 years now and when I purchased it, some of the plastic knobs are not original. This didn't bother me, but I wanted to mention it. The 101 has been set to a 1volt per octave standard, instead of the original 1.2 volts per octave. This allows you to use it with other analog gear / CV converters. . Also, there is an common internal modification on the 101. That the gate input triggers both envelope generators, not just #1. This allows for greater flexibility when sequencing.."

"The SL-1 Synthlab is a sound generator modeled on voltage-controlled modular systems of the 70's. The low pass filter used is based on the transistor cascade, better known as "Moog cascade". This leads to the character of the sound which is similar to that of Moog synthesizers.

Features

• Audio Outputs: 1 (Mono)
• Audio Inputs: 1 (Mono)
• Output Level: 1 +8 dB into 600 ohms
• Output impedance 1KOhm
• MIDI: In, Thru
• CV: Gate, Pitch CV, CV Mod (IN or OUT)
• Dynamic Range:> 100dB
• Signal to Noise:> 90dB
• Frequency Response 20Hz-20kHz"

These always sound best drenched in effects imo.

"Played though a decent sound system or amp this sounds amazing.

There is a Standard Jack output which goes into an amp or Hi Fi.

Power from a 9 Volt battery ( Supplied )

Sorry to see this go but the project has now stopped."

Some notes from the auction on the synth engine:

"This is a pretty versatile synth and in very many ways light years ahead of its time

It has dual DCOs plus noise so more complex sounds than the Juno series are possible

It is VELOCITY SENSITIVE !!!! unheard of on a synth of this era which makes it extremely expressive

It has superb modulation routing capabilities including filter cutoff to velocity and aftertouch of sorts you can route modulation sources in very complex Ways

It has a great dco2 detune slider which has a great effect on the sound really warm and fuzzy and chorusy

I think this synth leans more to the sequential prophet sort of sound rather than roland probably down to its snappy envelopes and Curtis filters , but it has its own unique sound

It has several operating modes

Normal -one sound across the keyboard

Split - two patches can be used one upper one lower !!!

Unison - stack up the 12 osc 's into a 6 oscillator duo-phonic phat monster

Double - some weird mode that allows overlapping it weird ways of splitting the sounds , never used it TBH gives me a headache just thinking about it :-/

It has very quirky outputs lower and upper which behave differently depending on which mode your in The manual says it has "pseudo stereo " so if you plug in two cables it basically randomly pans notes out of each output , what were they thinking :-/ ? (I think it sounds pants personally ) If your in split mode it sends the lower to lower output and upper to upper The best way is just run it in mono out of the upper (mono) output , saves lots of head scratching in the long run So if your after a great sounding analogue Polysynth with midi at the fraction of the price of a Juno 106 this is a no-brainer its pure class"

"This is an Analog Synthesizer with a Mono and a Poly section. These can be left / right split on the keyboard or stacked for a Fat sound. This Synth is in a very good condition, with little traces of usage.

New Doepfer A-141-2 Voltage Controlled ADSR/LFO

"Module A-141-2 is the successor of the obsolete former VCADSR module A-141. Compared to the A-141 a lot of improvements and expansions have been added:
common control voltage input for all time parameters (A/D/R), range switch for three different time ranges, inverted ADSR output, additional output with voltage controlled level (i.e. built in output VCA), digital outputs for End of Attack (EOA) and End of Release (EOR), EOR is e.g. required for the VCLFO mode."
