"WALDORF MICROWAVE 1 Rev A... with CEM 3389 and OS 2.0..."

via the Waldorf-User FAQ:

"Q: What different microwave I versions are known?

A: Rev A:
- frontpanel dark metalic blue, not painted, anodized metal
- rotary encoder has 52 ticks per revolution, has rippled, metal shaft with slot
- uses Curtis CEM 3389
- LCD has black characters on green background
- case is black

Rev B:
- frontpanel is made from Nextel, gray-blue, silkscreening blurry, rubs off
- high quality red dial
- rotary encoder has 24 ticks per revolution, has even, flattened plastic shaft
- uses Curtis CEM 3387
- LCD has green characters on black background
- case is grey

I assume that the change from Rev A to Rev B was not done by a step-function, so
there could be mixtures of all the attributes...

sonically they are nearly the same. The change of the filter didn't changed the microWave sound that much. And although the older version used the same Curtis filter chip as the big Waldorf WAVE, the sound is totally different.

There is also a single microWave with a chrome front plate (and a spare front plate like this in the hands of an ex-Waldorf employee). And the 99 last microWaves build came named "the mean green machine" with a green front plate and some spikes to put the unit on the shelf. Also included was a document in the look of a contract. It said you are not allowed to play folk music and that you have to feed the mean green MW I with all available software upgrades."

"This is a very rare, one-of-a-kind guitar designed to function as a regular guitar and an organ complete with multiple organ-style settings located on the guitar. It even includes the original organ volume pedal!..  The organ portion of the instrument is a 6-note polyphonic circuit which allows full guitar chords to be played. The guitar section always remains playable but organ notes can be played alone or simultaneously with the guitar. The frets are divided into six segments creating independent contact switches for each string. This allows several noted to be played by making contact with the string against the fret. The expression pedal is then used to bring in the organ sounds so the player can have only the guitar signal, only the organ signal or both at the same time. As stated above the truss rod is not functioning properly but all notes can be played on the neck without any fretting out or significant buzzing."

Future Retro 777 with Factory Mods

"This particular 777 is more than likely one of a kind. About 5 years ago, Jered, the owner of Future Retro performed some mods on this unit.

Here is a list of the mods:

1. Oscillator Tuning Temperature Stability Mod (Internal, I believe "Temp.-Co" resistors were installed)
2. Oscillator 2 SYNC to Oscillator 1 (SWITCH on back of unit)
3. "Sequencer Glide" On/Of (SWITCH on back of unit)
4. Adjust overall VCF Cutoff modifier amount (POT with knob on back of unit)

These mods are awesome and greatly enhance the sonic palette of the 777 voice, without losing any of the stock sounds....[especially the SYNC mod when using the Envelope to sweep VCO B pitch]. The "Glide" on/ off switch is awesome to throw cool variations of patterns in. I liked programming patterns with a ton of glide and then flipping the switch back and forth to toggle between super rubbery and super tight... The VCF Cutoff modifier lets the filter and res go to unbelievable levels. This is by far the most versatile 777 I've ever laid hands on.

And remember, the design and implementation for these mods was professionally performed by the creator of the 777.

This unit is clean and has lived in a smoke/pet free environment."

Blue Lantern Diode Operator VCF Filter Module

"The Diode Operator Station VCF is an analog filter based on the Steiner Diode array. You patch a 'sound' module like a VCO or Noise Generator into one of the input jacks. You then use the big knob to filter out frequencies and become a star.

There is an on board VCA internally connected to the final output. The vca is turned fully counter clockwise for normal operation. This will allow sound to pass 100%. When you would like to use the module for regular mono synth action you turn the vca knob until the sound is 'closed' or gated. Simply patch an envelope generator to the 'cv' input and turn up the knob. The envelope generator will open the vca. There is also an ouput line level rca jack that you can use to record straight to your daw in mono.

Features

Cutoff Control
Rez Control
Bi-Polar FM Control
Mixable Lowpass, Bandpass, Highpass Level Controls
Charm Control for Wavefolder Variation
