Q109 as a Divider

Published on May 9, 2013 Jeffrey Cecil

"I was playing with my newly acquired Q119 sequencer. I fed the gate to one of my Q109s to control the VCA, I chained that Q109s gate to my 2nd Q109 to control Freq Cutoff. I got a surprise in that as long as I keep the Decay setting on the VCA Q109 below the gate length of the Q119 feed, the chain to the 2nd Q109 will not reset. Thus, providing interesting Divider type behavior for fun rhythmic possibilities."

"Based on replies at Muffs, I calibrated the trimmers on the 485 a bit more and cut back the input to 1V p2p. Much better!"

First test of SOU 266r

Published on Jan 18, 2014 Jeffrey Cecil

Buchla in 5U MU dotcom format.

"Just finished building a Source of Uncertainty 266r module. The sound is all being created by the SOU through a Q107 State Variable Filter. No VCOs as voices. I'm using an SCM/RCD for the clock source going to the S&H part of the SOU, then out to the pulse inputs. Also, a couple of SSL LFOs and an SSL VCO in LFO mode going through an attenuator to control the CV. One of the SSL LFOs is clocking the SCM/RCD. West coast on East coast action!!

Sorry about the sideways camera. First time I've used the phone camera."

"Original Sequential Circuits Pro One in excellent condition. The Pro One is essentially one voice of Sequentials' flagship Prophet V synthesizer and utilizes the same VCOs, VCFs, VCAs and Envelope Generators as its bigger brother the Prophet V. This is very clean - no scratchy pots - or performance issues. There has been one key repair seen in the photos and is 100% stable."
