New Pittsburgh Modular Analog Replicator Eurorack Module

Published on Dec 3, 2014 Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers

"Cleaner, dirtier, brighter, darker, and more versatile than any other analog BBD delay line effects unit available. The Analog Replicator is the astounding result of over a year of ambitious design and engineering. The Analog Replicator was designed to be the finest analog delay available with a sound and feature set focused around the modular synthesizer."

"A New Beginning
The Analog Replicator was redesigned from scratch to be the finest analog delay available with a sound and feature set focused around the modular synthesizer.

Our original Analog Delay module grew out of the circuitry of a guitar pedal. The new Analog Replicator module does not share the same stompbox lineage. Michael Johnsen, Pittsburgh Modular's analog engineer, created a modern BBD core fed by a unique clock source and proprietary signal processing circuits. The result is a flexible, more musical, eurorack delay module.

How It Works
At the heart of the Analog Replicator is a pair of 4,096 stage BBD chips. The name BBD stands for [B]ucket [B]rigade [D]evice in reference to a line of people passing buckets of water to quickly extinguish a fire. Each stage of a BBD chip contains a single capacitor. Pairing two chips together creates a chain of 8,192 capacitors. Like the water buckets, an audio signal is passed from capacitor to capacitor within the BBD chips once every clock step. A slower clock produces a longer delay and a faster clock produces a shorter delay.

Multi-Mode Delay
The controls of the Analog Replicator can be used to produce a wide range of delay effects. The STAGES switch flips between 4,096 and 8,192 BBD stages. 4,096 uses a single BBD chip and 8,192 uses two. Using both BBD chips doubles the available delay time, perfect for echos and longer delays. Using a single BBD is useful for reverb and chorus effects. The SHORT/LONG switch drastically adjusts the delay range. The SHORT mode produces bright, clean analog repeats. LONG mode is dark and grimy. Mud and clock noise (whine) begin to leak in and eventually take over as the Analog Replicator reaches the longest available delay time of 2.6 seconds.

Availability, Price and More Information
The suggested retail price for the Analog Replicator module is $349 and it begins shipping to our dealers today. More information is available at pittsburghmodular.com/analog-replicator."

Moog Minimoog Model D Synthesizer Pristine Rare Early Version Signed by Goblin SN 1511

via the seller: " This one is very early serial number 1511, making it the 511th Mini ever made. Made in 1971. It's in virtually immaculate condition. From a very short run of a style where the front panel is flat metal with a smooth plastic coating. Clear pitch and mod wheels, white sided box. Very rare version. Recently serviced by Mike Bucki. Works and sounds great. Original early oscillator board. I had this signed by the Italian prog rock/horror soundtrack band Goblin at their first ever show on the continent North America. Claudio Simonetti used two of these for most of their work in the 70's and 80's. As far as I can tell, everything is working perfectly. I play it almost daily. New key bushings recently added when it was tuned and calibrated and gone through..."

"Here we have 2 very rare classic Roland sound modules

Roland PR-800, Digital Piano Recorder, Vintage Unit

Roland PB-300, Rhythm plus drum machine

I have owned these a while now but do not use them in my studio both are in working order!

As you can see from the picture they both have the small midi input and outputs along with some other clever functions like metronome and accent.

The two units would require normal kettle plugs.

The manuals can both be downloaded in an instant here:

Roland CR-78 CompuRhythm with Rare Future Retro Sync Box (One of Two Made)

via this auction

According to the listing only two of the FR Sync Boxes were made. I'll see if I can get confirmation on this from Future Retro.

via the listing:
"The programmer/sync box was custom made by Future Retro (only two made). Works similar to the original WS-1 that Roland released with this.

* Sync the CR-78 to any other Din Sync device
* Select the playback sync rate to: (1) normal speed, (2) double speed, (3) half speed
* Use external positive polarity Gate or Trigger signals to programm patterns into the CR-78 user memory.
* Manually tap a beat into the CR-78 user memory using the momentary switch on the front panel.
* Front panel blue LED lights to show when external gate or trigger signals are being received.
* Sync box is powered using a 9v battery (included)
* Instructions for using the sync box will be included with the item.

By syncing the playback of the CR-78 to your Din Sync master eg.TR-808/TR-606/Future Retro Revolution, you can then send the programmable trigger or gate signals out of the master into the programmer interface and on to the CR-78 for storing your own custom rhythms in the CR-78. When using a Din Sync master device which also has MIDI such as the Revolution, you can then sync your CR-78 to any other MIDI sequencers as well."

Update: I heard back from Future Retro. Not only are there only two in existence, this is the only one released to the public. The other is still with FR.
