Niio - Iotine Core 4

"The Iotine Core 4 is a fully analog, voltage-controllable audio processor with three differently equipped and combinable channels.

Here we show the unit in combination with an Acidlab Drumatix and the Haken ContinuuMini.

Two signal paths are equipped with a smooth sounding multi-mode filter, an extremely flexible saturator and a low-noise VCA. The difference: Each channel offers a unique combination of seven (!!!) saturation and distortion circuits. The third signal path features a multimode filter and a frequency divider / multiplier with distortion capabilities. Furthermore, there is a HAR envelope and an envelope follower. The modulators can not only influence the cutoff of one or more filters, but are also usable to create compressor and expander / gate effects.

Even though the video already shows a lot of action, the Iotine Core 4 can be much more subtle as well as much more brute if you want it to be. Very very versatile!"

"Running an old Univox SR-55 preset drum machine through the NIIO Analog Iotine Core 3 filters and distortions and trying out different settings.

Entirely analog, dynamic audio processor with three independent channels. Two feature each an H-A-R envelope, a smooth 12dB multi mode filter, a low-noise VCA and essentially a fantastic saturation stage, with six different distortion types for each channel. Additionally there's a EQ-like filter with other distortions. Four outputs and an external audio input you can use as envelope trigger input, extending the machine's functions.

"The IOTINE CORE is an analog mixing tool designed to allow flexible sound shaping for a recording or live environment. The IC is ideal for breaking up a track for creative sound design and mixing. The dual VCF channels can be used for dynamic filtering, as well as to split and mix the sound by frequency. 14 analog saturation circuits are available for adding character and texture, as well as creating a unique space within the mix. The IC features 3 separate processing layers that each includes a Filter, VCA, and a selection of Saturation circuits. Both channels feature a smooth 12db VCF, ideal for audio filtering and reminiscent of 12db synth filters but with very low noise and full frequency range. The dual channel SAT selection with variable DRIVE offers rich texture and intensity circuits designed to alter sound density through a range of analog techniques. Dynamic movement of frequency and amplitude of the layers is a base design feature of the IC.
