"The Orb is a single-track programmable digital step sequencer designed to play analog and MIDI instruments. The Orb is a perfect choice for sequencing our XS semi-modular synthesizer, and various other MIDI and CV/Gate type synthesizers. This step-based sequencer provides 256 storable patterns that users can create and edit in real-time while the unit plays. Patterns may be selected and played in any order live, or prearranged into one of the 16 song locations stored in memory. In addition, the Orb offers our Remix feature that provides 256 variations for every pattern and song, for more than 65,000 possible patterns right out of the box. The Orb can play external MIDI sound modules and CV/Gate type synthesizers, sync playback with other MIDI sequencers, and also act as a MIDI to CV/Gate converter."

"Sequential Circuits Pro-One analog monophonic synthesizer, with (the more reliable) J-Wire keyboard, MIDI and CV control -- works, sounds and looks fantastic...

BONUS: This Pro One also has the Synhouse MIDIJACK Midi-IN mod and 'TB-303' style glide mod. Both the Sequential and Roland-style glide controls can be used individually or in combination, as they contribute different yet complementary portamento effects. (I prefer using them together). The Synhouse installation is super clean and doesn't interfere with the stock functionality or cosmetics.. *and* gives this specific Pro-One an additional expressiveness you won't find in other examples."

Note the Oberheim style knob on the front left mod wheel section.

"I got this one from a friend's father who used to play synths on a band on the 80s. It makes sounds when you press the keys and the oscillators, faders and filters work, but some things needs to be fixed. When you are playing sometimes a note or two notes start to sound like if a key were stucked, then stop and start again randomly. Also the arpeggiator and ensemble button doesn't work. Everything else seems to be fine."

"An incredible example of an early serial Model D. OG oscillator board. Serial 44XX. [ 4496 ?]

This thing oozes character – just have a look at the photos; there's no mistaking this for a reissue. Wish I didn't have to let it go, but space constraints are a real thing in the city...

Fresh from the tech right before listing, working perfectly. Only issues you'll find with this one are cosmetic."

Indeed.  Front panel coating appears to be peeling off.  Curious how difficult it would be to remove.

AJH Synth Glide + Noise // busboard pitch distribution, slew/lag and noise sources for Eurorack

Published on Dec 3, 2018 DivKidVideo

"**TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW** ok so this is a simple one, easy to overlook and underrated I feel. Like all AJH this just work really well. It's a basic linear glide that can glide up, down or both up and down (normal function for most slews), there's a great hold function to halt signals passing with either gate high or low (behaviour set on a jumper), it can send or receive CV from your bus boards in the case (yes the CV / gate lines on the power connectors that go unused 99% of the time), and there's 3 noise types. Simple, but highly effective and now with a recent update it's skiff friendly, responds to negative CVs and has a range of ~14 octaves ... yes 14! I'm known to go on about how much I dislike people going on about big over the top octave tracking ranges as musical lines don't span 8 octaves or more BUT in this case we're talking about going well into modulation ranges accurately and audio so I won't be ranting here! :)

TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS

00:12 Patch previews

00:38 Function / features run down

01:03 Demo patch - a wider patch using noise for percussion, glide for pitch and some other new AJH modules for added spice.

03:36 Glide - up, down, both, linear slew,

04:55 CV bus on the power boards and distributing pitch around your system cable free!

05:54 Hold - what is it, jumper settings etc - interrupting sequences for added performance and sequence freezing.

07:22 Audio wave shaping - YES using this for audio manipulation, weird ... probably ... cool though? Yes! Slew works as a basic low pass filter but audio rate hold manipulation adds some great overtones.

09:27 Slewing (or lagging or gliding) modulation signals. Turning square LFOs into triangles, ramps and clipped saws.

10:52 Noise types - a look and listen at the red, white and pink noise.

13:28 Using the Glide + Noise to mimic original Moog Minimoog Model D behaviour with the interrupted / gated glide on the keyboard."
