"The D-50 is a very interesting digital synth that combines PCM samples with Roland's linear arithmatic synthesis method, a style of digital subtractive synthesis. The PCM samples are providing the attack sound and the LAS section will ring out or sustain. In practice some very lovely and complex sounds are easy to achieve with the D-50.

This synth is in great shape and works perfectly with just some minor cosmetic wear from its age, joystick is fully functional (just missing the screw-on tip). Incudes AC power cable and a D50 memory card.

Service notes:

Replaced internal memory battery, rebuilt power supply, replaced SMD op amp in post d/a audio driver. Ran all test modes, calibrated d/a offset."

"The GR-1 is a granular hardware synthesizer. Creating textures, characteristic sounds, drones, soundscapes, pads has never been easier. When you are working on a unique sound, it’s always nice to have hands-on controls to easily dial in the sweet-spots. The possibility to quickly adjust any parameter of your sound is necessary to adapt to the workflow of any user. Trace every adjustment you make with the built-in 7″ full colour display that is typically only found in top class synthesizers."

"Like nearly all the high end vintage analog synths we sell, this item has been METICULOUSLY disassembled, cleaned inside and out, FULLY serviced by professionals who’ve been servicing and selling vintage synths for more than the last 2 decades, and systematically tested multiple times over a long period to ensure it’s working exactly as it should. No BS. No ebay surprises. We’re perfectionists and don’t cut corners. Although this instrument came to us in relatively good shape, we want our items to be better than the rest and invested *many* hours of tech time plus parts costs to fully overhaul this unit so it would be clean, working like new again and as reliable as possible for its next owner. This was a serious investment of time, love, and money, and was definitely worth the effort and is of course reflected in the higher than usual price. If you’re looking for a great sounding example of this model that works just like it should without needing to invest hundreds or thousands of dollars in tech fees and waiting from weeks to years, this one should make you very happy."

"Like the keyboard version of the legendary E-mu SP1200 sampling drum machine. This unit came to us in exceptional condition as we bought it from its original owner who used it for just a short time before putting it back in its box for decades. This unit has been tech-checked and approved and is working and sounding great and is ready for its next owner. Sale includes disks, manuals, third party dust cover (not shown) and will ship in its original box (covered in cardboard). It's possible some of the floppy disks won't work, as this is common with vintage floppies. eBay has a 12 photo limit but we have more on our website.

And yes, of course the membrane panel has been replaced with a new one, and everything else that needs to be done was done. We buy typical Polarises that are broken or will break in transit and make them reliable again."

"We paid our tech for 10 hours of skilled labor to completely refurbish and future-proof this unit so it will hopefully outlast all others of its kind. This work is of course reflected in its price.

All 80017 chips had their resin coating removed (this coating eventually starts causing failures in these, so we chemically remove it as a preventative measure). Both speakers in this unit have been replaced with new ones. Power supply electrolytic capacitors were replaced. The battery was replaced and patches were reloaded. This unit was cleaned inside and out. (The speaker area is hard to clean, so you may still see dust inside that section if you look closely). Cold solder joints were reflowed. Cleaned and lubed all slide and rotary pots. Recalibrated. Adjusted keyboard. Systematically tested several times and burn in test passed.

"While we normally buy, restore and sell Roland SH-2 synthesizer, this listing is just for the original SH-2 packaging shown in the photos, nothing more and nothing less. We received the last SH-2 we bought in it. We specifically bought that one for use in our studio rather than for resale. Since we have no need for this box, we figured we'd pass it along to a collector type who wants it. It’s also possible someone may want it for shipping purposes, though we always recommend packing things better for shipping, so we wouldnt recommend it for that unless it’s double-boxed. Also note that one of the foam end pieces is broken. Take a good look at the pics so you know what you’ll be getting, as always."

"This unit was tested and is working surprisingly well for a user assembled unit of its type and age. Since it's a relatively low value item, since tech time is valuable, and since most people who buy Paia gear are also into DIY electronics and enjoy doing their own repairs, we are selling it as is. This is one of the simplest synths ever made so sorting out its issues or even fully refurbishing it to be as good as new shouldnt be hard for someone who knows what they're doing. During testing, we noticed the following issues: The envelope generator attack seems too fast at maximum setting and the expand function doesn't seem to work. The oscillator doesn't track the keyboard well. We didn't attempt to calibrate the oscillator so doing so may or may not fix this -these 2700 paia oscillators typically dont track well, so this may just be due to design and not any defect. If you can't do your own repairs and don't have a good tech, you may want to trying to get in touch with Paia to see if they'd consider doing it or if they could refer you to someone who works on old Paia gear. This sale includes technical manuals and patch cables, as shown. Note: the manual colors changed a bit during photo editing, but the synth looks exactly the way it appears in the pics."

OBERHEIM OB-8 MIDI Synthesizer Meticulously Refurbished SN C31702

"This unit came to us in relatively good condition, but we fully rebuilt it to our high standards regardless, as we want our ob8s to be in top operational condition when they leave here, and to hopefully outlast all others too. This meticulous restoration took approximately 30 hours of skilled vintage synth tech time and this is of course factored into its price. Someone replaced the original keyboard with a different keyboard mechanism which works just fine, but the keys have a somewhat tighter feel than the original keyboard. There's also an added toggle switch on the front panel that's connected to the filter jack. This unit is an earlier version with 3080 VCAs as opposed to the CEM ones in the later version. We rebuilt the power supply with new capacitors, diodes and trimpots. All other trimpots inside this unit were replaced as well. We replaced molex terminal connectors, a common cause of bad connections and malfunction. We installed a new battery for the memory backup section and reloaded factory patches. We replaced all capacitors in the power line as well as the 4051 multiplexer on each voice. All pots were cleaned and lubed. All jacks cleaned, the unit disassembled and cleaned inside and out, and properly recalibrated. We also performed our special mod for improved tuning. This OB8 should make anyone looking for a fully functional OB8 very happy - you'll have a hard time finding a nicer one anywhere."

Oberheim OB-XA with Kenton Midi restored by Analog Lab, NY SN 820913

"This thing is a beast! The source of Van Halen's Jump and so many of Prince's big records.

1981 Oberheim OB-Xa (8 voice/120 programs) with MIDI

Was restored in 2015 by Analog Lab, New York City.

Specifically:

1. Kenton MIDI Kit with in/out/thru and CC
2. New keyboard bushings installed; keyboard leveled--plays like new!
3. Complete servicing of power supply--like new!
4. Replaced capacitors and ribbon cables between boards
5. LED's replaced (a few were burned out when I bought it)

The MIDI kit alone, with labor, is a 1500 dollar upgrade. All in all, more than 2500 dollars of restoration was put into this synth!

Operationally, this synth is great. All keys, knobs, switches, and so on work!

Cosmetically, it originally had a few dings that have been re-painted. There is some minor "case rash" on the rear of the synth from a previous owner that probably kept it cased for 10-15 years, but it is barely visible when you look at the rear (see pictures). If I was being picky, I would rate the cosmetics of this Xa as a 7/10, all things considered. That being said, to see these trivial defects you have to look really closely, like putting your eyeball 6" away from the face panel."
