MAC only ??? Wahhhhhh :o(
ReplyDeleteNice find though :o) I've forwarded it on to my MAC friend who cut his teeth on the original back in 1973. I'll let you know what he thinks :o)
Had a very brief install-and-play, it works, but it's not particularly immediate!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Max-MSP runtime synth. I couldn't get any audio routed into it via Soundflower, but I'll try again later...
Well there are plenty of rough edges on the putney but despite this and not being as pretty as some of the other virtuals it sounds most like the real thing. PS just like the real thing you need to turn the volume and ouput filters up before you get any sound out...!
ReplyDeleteIndedd if anyone is keen you can here the putney being put through its paces on this track called Seal Pool Sounds from the CD of the same name by yours truely released last year http://www.psouper.co.uk/snatch/sound/seal.mp3
ReplyDeleteApplication quits as soon as the audio box is selected.

Oh great, i just fell in love with the EMS synthi. If the real thing is the analog counterpart of this software then i really want one.
ReplyDeleteWhen are they going to make new ones ? There's been talk of new ones for a few years...
Pin matrix is genius :)
you can get new VCS3's from ems down in cornwall. There is a waiting list of two or more years though.
