ZET SQUARE SHIP FACTORY

ZET SQUARE SHIP FACTORY from zet square on Vimeo.
"22.08.2008 Torun, audiovisual performance, playing two improvised streams of audio samples with synchronized video samples (or the other way round, depends how you put it). In use: hardware sequencer and few midi controllers as well as few other bits and pieces needed to make it happen. No 'external' samples used - music is made strictly with audio recordings made together with videos."

"Midi path:
Ableton Live sending midi clock to Korg Electribe ES1, used to program live sequencies, going back to Live through Behringer BCR 2000, each es1 channel having its own path through live with note length control (es1 sends just 'spikes' of midi notes - really bad) and note remapping, going through rewire to arkaos. controllers unmapped in live going straight to arkaos. second machine using Evolution MK-425C as midi source.

Audio path:
arkaos playing audiovisual samples through internal soundcard, going to live through maya 44 (same on both systems) for effects and mixing, then outputs from maya's going into the main desk. monitoring out from the mixer used for recording line audio onto two miniDV cameras.

video path:
both computers, two dvd players and Korg Kaptivator going to Edirol V8, and then to Edirol V4, duplicated using preview outputs, so a pair of mixers allowing any mixing of sources onto two seperate screens, but for most of the show we used av content on top of backing video using lumakey.

no analog oscillators involved but pretty complex overall setup."
