Synth movie themes from the vault- Francis Monkman (the long good friday) remix

"Always loved this soundtrack, and its not heard very often. Also very hard to find a stereo recording of it. Francis Monkman was a great synth player and composer. This is a cover, but I kept the original sax part (no synth can replace a real sax played by a real sax player!) Took me a long time to sample it and bring it back into the track, but ableton is one powerful tool. Lots of EQing and compression/delays etc. Hope you like it!

ReplyDeleteFrancis Monkman is a very good keyboard/synth player indeed. His organ and harpsichord recordings are quite stunning, as was his keyboard/synth work with Curved Air and SKY.
FYI; all the synth parts on the original version of the Long Good Friday theme were done with a Prophet 5 rev 1. No sequencing was used, everything was played.
