MPC 60, MFB Synth II, Kawai K3R 80's demo by Jordan Passmore

"Here is a demo I made of the Akai MPC-60, Kawai K3R, and MFB Synth II. The MPC is loaded with sounds from my old Linndrum and is sequencing all the synths. The Kawai K3R is doing the chords and the MFB Synth II is doing the bass. All the synths were mixed on my Studiomaster Pro-line mixer. I am using an analog delay, analog flanger and a digital reverb on the sends as well. The sum from the mixer then goes to the Roland MMP-2, which acts as a master compressor and A/D, then finally into my soundcard (Allen & Heath Xone DX). I played the sequences manually into the MPC-60 pre-filming.

The MPC-60 does a great Linn impression here. It has a similar feel and sound to it, due probably to the shared involvement of Roger Linn in both units. The MFB excels at gritty/muffled sounds, especially when ran through a delay and that's exactly what I did with this. The K3R's dual detuned waveshapes and on-board chorus plant it firmly in 80's territory, giving the whole track a very italo/french house vibe."
