Lovebot Live modular doodle

"In this clip I capture a live performance as I begin to develop a new Lovebot song from a patch I created on the modular synthesizer. It is rare to capture this kind of creative process on camera, so I hope you enjoy! Here is what follows:
1. Triggered Rhythm Ace analog drum machine synced to Ableton Live tempo (and subsequently looped)
2. pre-sampled Macbeth Micromac-r low end kick sound triggered with Korg Padkontrol (and subsequently looped)--listen with headphones to hear the depth of this sound
3. Micromac controlled with chromatically with a touchplate controller developed for the Animoog on the iPad
4. Synthwerks FSR-2P controlling/activating VCA and audio modulation on the Manhattan Analog MA35 MS-10/early 20 filter and amp clone."

Duophonic Modulator (Macbeth Micromac, Manhattan MA35)

"In this demo, I test the Synthwerks FSR-2P passive dual channel pad controller in a rhythmic, percussive context to activate audio-rate modulations (from one of the Micromac's oscillators and noise from Analog Systems RS-380 modulation controller). The pads are used to trigger modulation that affect the filter and amp sections of the Macbeth Micromac-r and Manhattan Analog MA35 VCF/VCA, which are running in parallel in a duophonic, repetitive, self-generating patch to a TEAC mic pre and out to a BBD delay before finally arriving to the computer's audio interface."

Micromac Modular Experiment Teaser

Published on Apr 9, 2013

"This video features two drone patches that use the Macbeth Micromac module and Manhattan Analog MA35 MS10/20 VCF/VCA (filters running in serial). The final output feeds into a TEAC reel to reel mic input for periodical saturation, then out to a BBD analog delay pedal before finally reaching the audio interface."
