Tom Oberheim Working on Marion Systems Eurorack Modules?
Note this one is purely in the rumor mill from the comments in this post, but if true it would definitely be interesting. For those of you not familiar with Tom Oberheim's synth history, when Oberheim Electronics went under in 1985 and was acquired by Gibson, Tom Oberheim started Marion Systems. He released the Marion Systems MSR-2 (see this post), essentially the successor to the Oberheim Matrix-6. You'll note it was named the "Marion systems Modular Synthesizer", not because it was a patch cable modular of course, but because the plan was to be able to swap out internal module boards which would consist of complete synthesizers. Could the released engine or others planned make their way into a eurorack module? Time will tell. Until then, what we do know for sure is that he will be releasing the eurorack SEM and Multi-Mode Stereo Phaser modules.
