"Scenes from the Touch the Gear event at the 17th Outsound New Music Summit.

'Touch the Gear is a hands-on, family-friendly exposition open to the public. During the evening attendees get to roam among inventors and musicians while experiencing sound producing gear, computers, instruments and inventors with their various different configurations of 'gear'--everything from oscillators and electronics, to planks of wood with strings attached. All attendees get to ask questions, make sound and experience how the instruments work, in an environment that demystifies technology while inspiring creativity. '

• Amanda Chaudhary - analog modular synthesizer, theremin
• Andrew of Chopstick - Pro One, modular and homemade synthesizers

• Tammy Duplantis - game boys
• Bart Hopkin - invented instruments
• Jeff Klukowski (Alphastare)- modular synthesizers etc.
• David Leikam - Moog Rogue analog synthesizer
• Dania Luck - laptop with midi-controller running super-collider
• Collette McCaslin - percussion, small instruments
• Andy Puls - homemade synthesizer
• Jess Rowland - cell phones and controller
• Gabby Wen - electronics
• Peter Whitehead - invented instruments
• Darwin Arts (Wayne Jackson) - genetic patch generation"
