New Behringer SP-2400 Sampler - E-Mu SP-1200 x 2 Clone In the Works?

This one spotted and sent in by Soviet Space Child. Update: it's real and it's not from Behringer.

Click on the image for the full sized shot. It's not the highest resolution but you can see SP-2400 Prototype printed on the bottom right. You can also see the following starting on the top left (circuit board print & jacks):

Active EQ for channels 3-6 (or is it 3 - 5)

"Hi Matrix, The SP2400 render picture is a fake render,if you zoom in on the picture you can see black lanes that goes in all ways. proportions of some trace planes are not possible,like from very large to one point delta. Also traces that goes to the 'big' processor/DSP comes from all sides and not the way like circuits are drawn.

  1. Also notice the Micro SD card slot between the MIDI ports and the USB B port.

  2. This is most certainly a fake. First, nobody prints 'Active EQ for Channels 3-6" or '1GB FLash' on a PCB. Second, there are 8 clusters of buffer amp circuits, but there are 11 quarter inch jacks So where is the supporting circuitry for the other three? Third, the buffers would almost certainly be the last components in the signal path before the actual jacks, so why are the filter/EQ/VCA circuits physically located closer to the jacks than the buffers? Last, where are the ribbon cable connectors? How would the other PCBs (e.g. the ADC/DAC PCB or the CPU PCB) communicate with this board? Or is the whole thing on one board?

    1. ...and you know what "everybody" does do you? It must be lonely sitting way up there in your tower; oh omnipotent one.

  3. Most functions seem to be on the board,8 outputs, L/R input and a headphone output? There are some headers labeled SPI so maybe they also have an I/O board with a small FPGA or CPLD (or microcontroller) to handle buttons, encoders/pots and display. I hope it's the real deal :)
