Synthplex 2020 Spooked by Coronavirus Now Set for Halloween

via Synthplex:

"DUE TO INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS AND CONCERNS FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ATTENDEES, VENDORS, ARTISTS, PRESENTERS AND SYNTHPLEX STAFF, SYNTHPLEX 2020 HAS BEEN POSTPONED. NEW DATES ARE OCTOBER 29TH - NOVEMBER 1, 2020."

The new dates are during Halloween weekend. Looking forward to the costumes. Should be interesting!

  1. They may regret this. If one looks at prior pandemic retroviral history, it is common for the new disease to dissipate during the Summer months, only to return with the cooler weather of Fall.

Since immunization likely won't be available by then -and hasn't been in the past similar instances- the Fall outbreak can surpass the Initial Winter result. Learn from the past.

Somebody as Synthplex might well look into this and consider a Summer -or late Summer- date instead.

Not to mention the popularity and family nature of Halloween, which will likely reduce attendance.
