Introducing move.ment - Soft Synth From Kia the Car Company
Introducing move.ment | The story behind the instrument | Kia video upload by Kia Worldwide
World's first synth released by a car company?
"Movement in nature has always inspired Kia.
Scientific research shows that the sounds of movement found in nature produce a sound frequency that can help trigger inspiration. In collaboration with synth builder, Arthur Joly [Reco-Synth], we captured the natural sounds of movement all over the world and turned them into an instrument called move.ment.
Now, we bring you the story of move.ment and the inspiring journey that led to its creation.

"World's first synth released by a car company?"
ReplyDeleteYamaha have made the odd car, so maybe not.
Not the same really. Yamaha has been making synths for the sake of it since the beginning. KIA has nothing to do with synths.
DeleteFinally got a second. For fun I looked up Yamaha on Wikipedia to see what they started with. Here's a list of product ranges by year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Corporation#Products
Delete"Yamaha expanded into many diverse businesses and product groups. The first venture into each major category is listed below.[19]
1887 Reed organs
1900 Pianos
1903 Furniture
1914 Harmonicas
1922 Audio equipment (crank phonograph first)
1942 Guitars
1955 Motorcycles – made by Yamaha Motor Company, which started as an affiliated company of Nippon Gakki (Yamaha Corporation's name at the time) but is a separate company today
1959 Sporting goods (starting with archery)
1959 Music schools
1961 Metal alloys
1965 Band instruments (trumpet first)
1967 Drums
1971 Semiconductors
2000 Yamaha Music Communications (record company)
2001 Yamaha Entertainment Group (record company)"
Still interesting and a valid point on your end. It just depends on how you look at it.
