Behringer Teases New Spice Synth w/ Sequencer

Note the Sub frequencies. This one apears to be based on the Moog Subharmonicon. Compare the controls with the image of the Subharmonicon below. Also see the EDGE vs DFAM here.

According to Behringer:

"Many of you asked for some SPICE in your life. He hear you.

SPICE comes with full MIDI/USB implementation. The unit is currently undergoing final beta testing and hopefully will go into production soon. We believe we can produce SPICE for 249 USD max."

  1. How many people still refuse to buy from Behringer simply on general principle?

    3. Not me, I already own a few Behringer products, clones of older products that were long discontinued. This one does make me a little uneasy though. I love the concept of the Subharmonicon but it was a little too expensive for me to get one. This Behringer one make it much more affordable but my unease comes when it is a product still in production. It is worse for me when it is from a small manufacturer but Moog Music doesnt really fall into that category [valued at over 3 billion] so im sure they can look after themselves. Still, im undecided if that should be a factor.

    4. Years ago I sold all my vintage synths and put the money in my retirement fund. I have been replacing them with Behringer clones. There are purchases to come in the future. I have not been disappointed with the quality builds.

  4. Why not???? I got 6 x 3Ux 84 HP System 100 and 2500 modules from Behringer, 2 x craves, a model D, RD6, TD3, K2 and a Blue Marvin 2600. Pro 800 and Edge on pre-order.
When Roland started producing the System 500 modules I bought two for nearly £700 I then saw Behringer Sys 100's coming out so I waited nearlly a year.
I felt that given Rolands position as a major player with access to SMT fabrication technology that pricing structure was taking the P*ss.
I once owned 5 Sys 100ms from Roland so great respect but in this day and age if a product can be produced for less then big thumbs up from me.
I dont need to know a synth was made by jim in a shed in the mountains for it to make me want to part with hard earned cash!
That to me does not warrant such high prices. I'm a big Korg fan, love the XD and wavestate, had all three Wavestations in the past (not the SR) but the pricing for the 2600 and now the minkorg 700 is ridiculous
So yeah I'm still buying Behringer and the SPICE is high on my list
