Noesis // Chamber of Circuits

video upload by Erica Synths

"A performance of Noesis by Latvian composer Anna Fišere, written for eight performers and fourteen synthesizers, bringing together musicians from Latvia's classical and electronic music scenes.

Inspired by Plato's concept of noesis - the highest form of knowledge achieved through direct, intuitive understanding - the composition challenges the boundaries between academic and electronic music. Combining contemporary composition techniques with the chamber orchestra format and electronic instruments, Noesis examines the relationship between human intuition and the algorithmic precision of machines.

Developed in close collaboration with Erica Synths, the piece brings together analogue, digital and modular synthesizers, using repetition, modulation and spectral harmonies to create an evolving musical structure.

Performers of Noesis: Rihards Plešanovs, Reinis Rabenau, Sonja Misiņa, Kaspars Tobis, Ansels Kaugers, Error, Madara Ozoliņa, Edgars Tomševics, conductor Artūrs Gailis.

Set design: Artūrs Virtmanis.

Produced by the cultural organisation Artes Liberales.
