"This piece was created using the ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10, a custom-built noise box, and a tape loop.
It is an ambient electronica composition built from piano sounds, everyday noises, and noise-infused synth pads.

On the Prophet-10, noise-tinged synth pads are performed while reverb is applied using the ‪@strymon‬ blueSky.

The noise box is connected to ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOST+FOUND, where delay and reverb are added.
The noise box itself includes springs, kalimba-like metal plates, and steel bars, which generate physical and metallic textures.

On the tape player, a one-minute endless tape contains a pre-recorded piano performance.
While the tape is playing, delay is applied using the ‪@strymon‬ TIMELINE. Toward the end of the piece, the delay feedback is increased to create a lingering resonance."

Tracks were sequenced in ‪@Ableton‬ Live, with a ​⁠‪@KORG_INC‬ SQ-64 acting as a MIDI-to-CV converter. An iPad is running MIDI Designer Pro, a control surface for Ableton. "Signal-processing chain built around a Fender Rhodes piano and a 1010music nanobox | lemondrop.

The Rhodes piano's pickup output is blended with a contact microphone attached inside the instrument to capture mechanical key noise. The combined signal is routed into the lemondrop and used as a live input granular oscillator source. Granular parameters are adjusted in real time to reshape the incoming audio.

Both the processed signal from the lemondrop and the direct Rhodes signal are then sent through the stereo BBD delay on a Moog Matriarch. I also added some reverb from a Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978 to create a bit more space and depth.

A journey into integrating the 1010music bento into a vintage synthesizer studio is embarked upon. The seamless blending of modern sampling and sequencing capabilities with classic analog warmth is explored.

After familiarising myself with my new toy from 1010music last week, the next step was to integrate it into my existing setup in a meaningful way. Bento takes over the work of the drummachine (LM1 samples), the control and recording of the Juno-106 and Casio CZ-101. I deliberately chose not to use a PC, I let Bento do the most things. Even the processing and effects.

Strymon SuperKar+ (Part 4) Chord Voice w/ Magneto, BitBox Micro, XPO, and ZPO

"The ‪@strymon‬ SuperKar+ Chord Voice through a Strymon Magneto. Percussion is from a BitBox Micro, bass is from a Make Noise XPO, and the background synth voice is from a Steady State Fate ZPO.

Loops are from Ableton Live, with a Korg SQ-64 acting as a MIDI to CV converter. Ableton's clock is randomized by CV Tools stepped-random LFOs. The Strymon Magneto is clocked by the kick drum trigger. Reverb is from Ableton Live. Recorded in one take.

SuperKar+ is a Eurorack voice module that uses Karplus-Strong synthesis to create the sound of plucked or bowed strings, struck or blown pipes or tubes, or a suite of other sounds."

Last week arrived my prize from the Keyboards Synthesizer competition. 🙂 Some of you voted for me. Yes, no vintage synthesizer. :D I promised I would make a demo. And here we are.

Call me crazy, but I couldn't tear myself away from it all weekend. I loaded all my drum machine samples from the last 30 years into the box, along with waveforms from my synthesizers. This thing is a sound and performance monster. Even as a sampling drum machine alone, it's worth its weight in gold. Sampling with extensive editing options such as slicing, chopping up samples, multi-sampling , real-time and step sequencing, granular synthesis, etc. Everything under one roof. Bento works scene-based like Ableton Live, for example, which means you first build the individual components and then put everything together into a song at the end. The advantage of this is that you can rebuild and rearrange the song in real time over and over again.
It's still in the early stages of development and updates are coming out all the time, but even in its current state, Bento is super awesome.

2025/10 - 1010Music Lemondrop realtime CC playing

"A realtime session on the Lemondrop granular sampler being controlled by Midi CC with a Synth Controller. Bass, tabla and drums from MPC One. I simply love to manually travel through a sample having the playhead position directly on a knob - especially if it's a voice or the sample contains different chords.

BLACK parameters are always available. The three color layers are distributed to RED for GR1 settings, GREEN for GR2 and BLUE for FX, Envelope1 and OSC Pitch.

Filter is set to PER OSC: GR1 runs through Filter 1, GR2 though Filter 2. Both samples are set to playmode FIXED. If MOVING would support the playhead to run backwards if the modulation becomes negative this also would be fun to play with. But currently it's only stopping when receiving -100% modulation.

Important: at the time i shot the video (2025/10, Beta V1.2.26) the Lemondrop does not offer default CCs. All CCs are manually learnt by hand. Means: changing to another preset stops the remote editing from working - until you learn them all again :-) Hopefully 1010 Music offers an update supplying a default CC scheme in the future. Until then it does imho not make that much sense to offer this LEMONTREE edition for the Synth Controller officially. In the 1010music forum there is a capable guy offering a free webservice to convert all presets to supply a special CC mapping but i did not try it yet. Still learning about this funny little sampler."
