Alternating Measures #squarp #hermod #oberheim #novation #moog #korg #soma
video upload by MKustomAudio
"Some material sequenced on the Squarp Hermod+ using different measure lengths for the parts alternating how it sounds as the patterns loop. Sound sources include the Oberheim OB-6, Moog Mother 32, Novation Peak, and Korg Minilogue XD and Arp 2600m. All summed audio is then routed through the Soma Cosmos for some additional ambience."

DeaR Sun 🖤 (Moog Minitaur / Waldorf Streichfett / Roland S1 / Korg Volca Beats / Novation Mininova)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"This is one of my most personal jams, hope you'll enjoy it 🖤
The NDLR is sequencing with:
Track 1: the Moog Minitaur (BASS)
Track 2: the Waldorf Streichfett (STRINGS)
Track 3: the Waldorf Streichfett (PLUCKS)
Track 4: the Roland S1 (ARP)
The DRUMS are coming from the Korg Volca Beats and the LEAD is being played in real-time on the Novation Mininova.
A couple of tricks I used here:
The Waldorf Streichfett has 2 engines (STRINGS + SOLO), which can be played independently if needed. This is what I did here, where Track 3 of the NDLR is sequencing the SOLO engine, and Track 2 the STRINGS engine.
I'm using one of the NDLR's LFO (Random wave) to modulate (by sending CC) the TONE parameter of the Waldorf Streichfett SOLO engine.
I've used a second LFO on the NDLR to modulate of the parameter the octave parameter of Track 1 (called the DRONE track on the NDLR) which is sequencing the Minitaur, hence playing from time to time a note with an octave higher 😉"

This Is A Great Mono Synth To Pair With Your Sampler
video upload by EZBOT
"In today's episode we are pairing the Novation Bass Station II with the Elektron Digigatk II and Digitone II. One for sampling it and one for sequencing it. The Novation Bass Station is one of the simplest and most satisfying mono synths I've used, I highly recommend it as a first synth, no doubt.

Testone/Sweet Exorcist (Circuit Tracks Version)
video upload by Guinan
"This weeks bonus track is another slice of moody 1989 UK Bleep Techno from Sweet Exorcist (actually one half of the electronic punk band Cabaret Voltaire). I was listening to this as I did the LFO song" [posted here - additional posts here]

Getting glitchy with Pattern Mutate on Circuit Tracks
video upload by Novation
"In this video, Dylan takes you inside a spontaneous session on Circuit Tracks, starting with a simple melodic phrase and building it into a full groove with drums, bass, and evolving textures. Along the way, he showcases Pattern Mutation, a creative tool for transforming loops into something fresh and expressive. It’s a hands-on look at how small ideas can grow into dynamic musical moments and be used for creating transitions, perfect for producers looking to break out of repetitive patterns and unlock new inspiration."

LFO/LFO (Circuit Tracks Version)
video upload by Guinan
"This week’s track is a version of the classic 1988 Warp records release ‘LFO’ by the UK Leeds band, LFO. Seen at the time as part of a genre then known as ‘bleep techno’ it was characterised by hard, uncompromising electronic minimalist industrial techno tracks such as this.
I’m hoping I’m not the only one who remembers and loves this track! If you like this try and find 'Testone/Sweet Exorcist' in a similar style - possibly one for a future cover too.
More details for synth nerds
I already had some ‘Speak & Spell’ samples I’d downloaded years ago so this was a great starting point. I had separate samples for the “L”, “F’ and “O” and I thought it would be fun to throw in one of the starting noises the toy makes when switched on. The same toy is featured on Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer World’ album so the sound will be a familiar one.
The main chord sequence comes from a Kawai K1 preset patch. Luckily there is a free fantastic software synth emulation of this keyboard available online so I was able to create a sample for the repeating chords. The emulator can be downloaded from the following page,
https://www.nilsschneider.de/wp/categ...
I’d encourage you to leave a donation for the author if you find this emulator useful.
All of these samples are sequenced alternately on the Drum 4 track.
There is a single repeating rhythm pattern using 909 samples played on Drum 1-3.
Synth 1 plays an FM-sounding bass patch, and Synth 2 is a representation of the staccato bleep sound (a small amount of pitch envelope helps recreate the original sound). Add lots of reverb and voila!"
Digitone 2 controlled by Launch Control XL 3 - Full one-take performance
video upload by Sineway
"All sounds in this live jam come from the Elektron Digitone II, controlled via the Novation Launch Control XL 3.
I mapped the Digitone’s modulation wheel macros to the Launch Control’s faders for real-time modulation.
This one-take performance is part of an ongoing setup I’ve been refining, and I’ll be doing a full walkthrough soon: MIDI mapping, sound design, and how this setup makes jamming feel effortless."

"I bought a Move. Here's a quick overview of how I used it with my modular to build this track • Endogenous - dark ambient ritual psychedel...
TLDR: The Move is great. Works really well using the Intellijel MIDI 1U via USB to sync the modular to the Move and send a channel of pitch, gate & velocity.
Let me know if you have any questions on the set up.

Novation SUMMIT // A 2025 Synth from 2019... and beyond!!
video upload by Starsky Carr
"Sonically we're in control iykyk :) .... Coming out of Leftfield - was the market ready for the Novation SUMMIT and PEAK FPGA oscillators back in 2018? Did we really understand what they were? .. digital .. yes, but not as we knew it, not old school tech type of digital.
Get my SUMMIT and Peak Patches here:
Vintage Classics https://www.starskycarr.com/patches/p...
Oberheim https://www.starskycarr.com/patches/p...
Clocking at 24MHz these were something new. Bringing out a hybrid when everyone was going analog crazy was a brave move, but one that's still paying dividends.
Building on ideas from vintage classics, it seems to have come from the future... well ahead of it's time - it's always been a 2025 synth but was originally released in 2019.
AND - it's packed full of features...
In this I look at some of the more overlooked features, and the flexibility. In my previous demos i've showed how it can emulate the functions of loads of classic synths, so in this i take it a little further. Looking at binaural mode, complex modulation, 3 distortions, dual filter modes and wavetables.
... and a big thanks to @AlexBallMusic for his cameo :)"

Says (Version)/Nils Frahm - Circuit Tracks Version.
video upload by Guinan
"I was lucky enough to see Nils Frahm on his latest tour and this is my favourite of his compositions. Whilst listening to the track build on his stack of vintage synths and keyboards (notably a Roland Juno for the main arpeggio) it occurred to me (perhaps over-ambitiously) to have an attempt at seeing how this would sound on the Circuit Tracks.
The track may be familiar to some from the 'Ad Astra' movie soundtrack (might be the best thing about the movie?!). • Says - Nils Frahm Scene Part 2 | Ad Astra ... [below]
This time the limit was definitely not the Circuit hardware but more my own musical ability. Without a score, (and discovering that many of the versions online seem to be semi-improvised) I was left with slowing down the track until I could identify individual notes and program them in in step time….add to that the fact that the track has enormous amounts of tape echo which he manipulates in real-time.
I came to the conclusion that at best I could try and create my own ‘version’ inspired by his original. This should be viewed as a reinterpretation and not a strict cover (and I did put a rhythm track on it too). I’ve since found other Youtubers playing versions of these but they mainly go for very simple arpeggios and I was aiming to try and capture some of the complexity of the other ‘layers’ played.
Imagine this composition then as the simplified version Nils might create for his first Café Del Mar set armed only with a Circuit Tracks…..and after someone had removed his ability to play the piano ;)
I hope some of you like it…I loved attempting this electronica classic and hope you enjoy the end result.
Everything you hear is just the Circuit Tracks. No extra synths or effects."
