Pocket Jungle Toolkit for the PO-33 | Jungle in Your Pocket

video upload by Pocket Trax

"After working on this for quite a while, I’m finally ready to share it with you all. Think of it as your Jungle Army Knife. πŸͺ–πŸ”Š

πŸ‘‰ Available on Patreon: / pocket-jungle-158682059
Patreon paid members get the toolkit as part of their membership ✨

What’s inside?

16 Amen & drum break slices
4 Jungle basses
2 Atmospheric pads
2 Synth sounds
12 Classic jungle FX hits

Whether you want classic 90s jungle vibes, or fast sketch ideas, this kit gives you a solid starting point.

All sounds are in F#. Melodic slots can be played as chromatic.

I also processed and mixed all sounds meticulously using compression, reverb, redux, and other effects to capture that classic raw jungle character, crunchy breaks, dirty textures, washed atmospheres, and heavy old-school vibes straight out of the box.

Hope you have fun with it!"

Happiness is a warm chip | 8-bit Nintendo EP

video upload by Jay Hosking

Additional HapiNES posts

"Please support my work on Patreon: / jayhosking
Five chip tunes made with the limitations of the original NES.

00:00 - Stage 1
02:41 - Underworld
05:07 - Cutscene into battle
08:07 - Peace and war
09:55 - Overworld

I grew up on video game music, and it's probably a large part of why I love synthesizers today. What impresses me most about those old soundtracks is how much they can achieve with such a limited voice count and, to a lesser extent, sound palette. (I actually adore the sounds, so I don't see them as limiting.) The Nintendo Entertainment System had two mono synth square waves, one extremely chunky triangle wave mono for bass, and then a noise oscillator for percussion. There was also an extremely low-resolution sampler ("Blades of Steel!") but I chose not to reproduce that here.

For a while, I had been thinking about working within the limitations of the original NES. I could do that on any modern groovebox or synth, of course, but I wanted the limitations forced on me, and I wanted something that got me close to the original sound without a lot of work. Thanks to my Patreon community, I was able to pick up the Twisted Electrons hapiNES L, which emulates the old NES chip sounds, right down to the mono (not stereo!) out.

Once I had the sounds in place, I wanted a way to quickly write and structure songs. The Teenage Engineering OP-XY proved a good choice, because it's quick, has two octaves to play on, has a smart and creative transposition tool, and has an excellent song mode for structuring longer compositions. I also wanted to use some other sequencing tools, so I pulled out the Oxi One Mk2 for the final song. I didn't find it was quite as effective for the song-mode sequencing, but its new Chord Palettes mode led me in some extremely interesting musical directions.

I could have kept going, but five days seemed like a good haul of NES music for now, and proof to myself that I could do it again in the future. I know the music here might not be to everyone's tastes, but it satisfies the kid in me and makes me wish I had an 8-bit game to write a soundtrack for.

Thanks for listening.

Bad Gear - Looks like TEENAGE ENGINEERING

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about MPC Sample.

This brand new toy aisle version of the iconic beat making cash register can be considered to be Akai’s return to the minimalist workflows and aesthetics of first-gen MPCs which - funnily enough - makes it look like it was made by Teenage Engineering."

Modular Dub Techno Sounds AMAZING

video upload by EZBOT

"There is something about Dub Techno that I just can't get enough of. Maybe it's the echoing chords and atmospheres, or maybe it's the clean simplicity of the drum programming. Whatever it is modular synthesizers seem to do it the best. The advantage of modular is the fact that we can have so many AAA effects and voices in a single compact case. Today I show you what that can sound like and discuss why it works in this particular 7U 104hp arrangement. Let's make some tunes! Today's featured module is the XAOC Odessa, an additive oscillator with great hands on control."

Minimal Ambient with Piano, Tape Loop, and Synth Pads | Memorial Delay 2026-05-27 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"A minimal ambient piece where piano sounds, tape loops, and synth pads overlap.

This work is created with ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, ‪@YamahaSynthsOfficial‬ CS01, and tape loops.

On the OP-1 field, bit reduction is applied with the TERMINAL effect to a piano loop performed on the Sampler. Additional piano phrases are played by hand and layered into the piece.

The tape loop uses a one-minute endless tape. A pre-recorded piano performance is played back while pitch shifting and micro loops are layered through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII.

On the CS01, sounds with long attack and release settings are performed. Filtering and reverb through the ‪@strymon‬ NIGHTSKY create a synth pad-like texture."

Electronica with Game Boy, OP-1, OP-1 field, and TENORI-ON | White Things 2026-05-22 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"An electronica piece created with Game Boy, ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1, OP-1 field, and ‪@YamahaSynthsOfficial‬ TENORI-ON.

The melody on the Game Boy is played using LSDj and processed with pitch shifting and reverb through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII.

On the OP-1 field, harmony is created and looped using voice samples loaded into the Sampler.

On the OP-1, a bassline is looped using the ENDLESS sequencer. FM synth parameters are occasionally adjusted during the performance. Reverb is added through the ‪@strymon‬ blueSky.

On the TENORI-ON, rhythm patterns are played back. It is synchronized with the OP-1 field via USB MIDI using the KENTON MIDI USB HOST. During the performance, patterns are added and the loop range is changed."

TR-1000 + Tonverk + TB-03 + EP-136 K.O. SIDEKICK + TIMELINE: Smooth Jungle jam

video upload by Freaky Tweaky

"I played around with the EP-136 again today.

While the punch-in FX requires a bit of practice to switch between modes, it's great to be able to operate it with just one finger in the often hectic world of Dawless Jam. Once you get used to it, you can even create your preferred nuances by adjusting the pressure you apply."

Minimal Ambient with Lo-Fi Tape Piano | Ink Stain 2026-05-19 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"A minimal ambient piece featuring resonant lo-fi tape loop piano.

This work is created with Ambient Ø, OP-1 field, and tape loops.

On Ambient Ø, sequence phrases with built-in delay are played in a random order.

On the OP-1 field, a steel pan-like sound is looped using the ENDLESS sequencer. The output is processed with reverb and filtering through the NIGHTSKY.

On the tape loop, a one-minute piano performance is recorded and played back. The signal is processed through the TIMELINE with delay, and the feedback intensity is varied."

Turning the Perkons HD-01 Into a Drone Synth

video upload by Mark Cee

"Drone sounds never really appealed to me until I started studying textures. Over time I became drawn to the idea — and to the tools used to compose this way. What I didn't realize is that I've had a very capable drone synth right under my nose for the last 3 years.
The Perkons HD-01 is usually known as a drum machine, but each voice is so much more which makes it great for sustained, evolving textures. I tuned each voice and sent it all through my Meris Mercury X for reverb. I couldn't help adding a few notes from the OP-1 Field on top. After that I just jammed and was reminded how the simplicity of an instrument like this never grows old. It's been my buddy since the day it was released and still brings me a lot of joy to this day."

video upload by AudioWanderer

"Just testing the new mixer from Teenage Engineering, the EP-136 Sidekick with this combo, one of my favorites lately, the Pikocore and the AW noisemaker. Great duo to make this kind of f#cked up glitch core thing. Noise ad nauseam.

This AW noise maker is a glitch synth of mine... Yes, an AW brand new synth that I've just created. Sure you are familiar with it already. But in case you missed out... Here you have more info about it: https://audiowanderer.com/AW/aw-noise..."

TE OP-XY SOFT GLITCHES AND TOUCH DESIGNER NOISE

video upload by keinseier

"Having the luxury of choosing between different tool is so incredible - BUT it makes it hard to divide up the available time!
Because investing time to try and thoroughly learn one thing is incredibly rewarding. How to choose? (This might be relevant even more right after Superbooth 26)
This is some Touchdesigner and some OP-XY."
