OP-1 Field Firmware 1.5 Explained: Multi-Channel USB Audio, Amp Synth & Tape Updates
video upload by Noisegate
"Teenage Engineering have dropped a huge firmware update for the OP-1 Field, and it might be the most important one yet. In this video, we take a hands-on look at firmware 1.5, covering multi-channel USB audio, the new Amp input synth, count-in recording for tape, tape and drum crossfades, and other workflow improvements.
We also show how the OP-1 Field now works as a 10-channel USB audio interface, including routing individual tape tracks into a DAW or a USB-compliant mixer like the TX-6. If you are already using the OP-1 Field, or thinking about adding one to your setup, this update seriously changes what the instrument can do."

Kowloon Park Field Recordings & Prophet-10 Ambient | Park and Birds 2025-11-30 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using field recordings from Kowloon Park in Hong Kong, along with the @SequentialLLC Prophet-10 and @teenageengineering OP-1 field.
It is an ambient electronica work where synthesizer harmonies resonate over a backdrop of birdsong.
On the Prophet-10, synth pads are performed and processed with reverb using the blueSky.
The OP-1 field is routed through @ChaseBlissAudio LOST+FOUND and @strymon NIGHTSKY, adding tape-style effects and reverb, followed by an additional layer of reverb and filtering from the NIGHTSKY.
The park ambience was recorded at Kowloon Park on November 26, 2025, using a TASCAM Portacapture X8."

Granular Kalimba Clouds & Piano Resonance | No Products 2025-11-28 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the YAMAHA CBX-K1XG and the @teenageengineering OP-1 field.
It is an experimental ambient composition where granular-processed kalimba forms dense clouds of sound that blend with resonant piano tones.
The piano tones played on the CBX-K1XG are processed through the @strymon NIGHTSKY, adding a deep and spacious reverb.
On the OP-1 field, sustained tones with pitch-shifted textures are produced through the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII, while the filter is opened and closed to create evolving movement in the sound."

Teenage Engineering OP-XY
Ambient Things | OP-XY Stranger Things theme Cover
video upload by Lo-fi Pask
"An ambient reinterpretation of the iconic Stranger Things theme, created entirely on the Teenage Engineering OP-XY.
To celebrate the release of Stranger Things 5, I started working on a traditional cover using the OP-XY and the fantastic Danger Strings sound pack. But while searching through my library, I stumbled upon a pad that inspired a completely different direction.
From that sound came the sketch of an atmospheric, dreamy ambient track. Almost as a joke, I layered the classic Stranger Things arpeggio on top, and surprisingly, it just worked. That accidental blend gave life to this ambient-style Stranger Things cover, something a bit different from the usual reinterpretations.
It wasn’t an easy process: I changed notes, key, textures, and more than once I felt like abandoning the idea. But eventually, everything clicked into place.
🔥 If you’re into ambient music, synth textures, Teenage Engineering gears, or Stranger Things' iconic sound design, this track is for you.
Hope you enjoy it!
🎧 For the full immersive experience — subtle textures, evolving pads, spatial details, and low-end nuances — listening with headphones is highly recommended."

RX-17 Looped Beats, Glitched Teto Vocals & Piano Layers | Parabolic Path 2025-11-24 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"The @YamahaSynthsOfficial RX-17 is connected to the @KORG_INC NTS-3, where its beats are shaped and altered using the looper while they play.
On the @teenageengineering OP-1 field, sampled vocals of Kasane Teto are processed through the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII, adding glitch textures as the phrases loop.
The piano parts are performed on the MOTIF-RACK ES, then recorded and edited to create the final melodic layers."

EP-133 K.O.II Textures & OP-1 field Synth Loops | Flatness 2025-11-21 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the @teenageengineering EP-133 K.O.II and the OP-1 field.
It is a minimal electronica track where repeating electric-piano tones gradually shift in color and eventually converge into a single unified sound.
The EP-133 K.O.II is processed through both the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII and LOST+FOUND.
On the MOOD MKII, reverb is applied while the CLOCK is adjusted to create pitch shifting, and the TAPE effect is manipulated to produce micro-loops.
On LOST+FOUND, the IMPULSE SYNTHESIZER generates synth textures based on the electric-piano tone, while the PINGING PHASER adds a resonant, shifting movement.
On the OP-1 field, synth sounds sampled from the Moog One are played with filtering applied.
Additional reverb is added using the master effect to deepen the atmosphere."

video upload by Perplex On
"Sequencing the #rolands1 with the #ep133koii while playing with KO2‘s midi fx for dynamic speed control and additional midi notes on top of the sequence. Super fun! And since both devices use a mini midi jack, a regular 3.5mm jack cable connects both. Pretty convenient."
Cut-up Drums & Synth Layers with Prophet-10 and OP-1 field | Solver 2025-11-20 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, @teenageengineering OP-1 field, and YAMAHA MOTIF-RACK ES.
It features cut-up drum patterns layered with synth harmonies and melodic lines.
On the Prophet-10, synth pads are performed and processed with reverb using the blueSky.
On the OP-1 field, recorded drum performances are sampled, rearranged, and played back as reconstructed patterns. The sequence is controlled via MIDI from Ableton Live. Used effects include the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII and the @strymon NIGHTSKY.
The bassline is generated using Omnisphere.
Melodies and additional parts are performed on the MOTIF-RACK ES, completing the arrangement."

TR-1000: Thoughts, Discussion, and Production
video upload by EZBOT
"The TR-1000 is a strange and wonderful machine that constantly has me returning to the manual to see if it can do 'this or that' and often finding out it can do most things you throw at it. How does it compare to an Elektron machine? How does it sound? Is the workflow clunky or is it smooth? Could this be an addition to your setup or a stand alone machine? All this and more, this time on 120 minutes. Additionally we will talk smack about the OP-XY while also drooling on it at the same time. My favorite combo."

Filtered Synths, Tape Loop Noise & Dub Techno Atmosphere | Onset 2025-11-13 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the @NovationTV Circuit, @teenageengineering OP-1 field, and a tape loop. It blends filtered synths, delayed drum patterns, and field recordings into a dub-techno soundscape.
On the OP-1 field, vocal samples are used to create chord tones that are looped with the ENDLESS sequencer. The filter is opened and closed at various points to alter the timbre. Reverb is added through the @strymon NIGHTSKY, where the HIGHCUT filter is also adjusted to shape the tone.
A cassette player @WeAreRewind1 holds a one-minute endless tape containing field recordings captured in a park. These sounds are processed with @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII and LOSSY, adding micro-loops, reverb, filtering, and textures between noise and ambience.
The Circuit plays the rhythm pattern. Its built-in filter is manipulated during performance, and additional delay is applied using the @strymon TIMELINE.

OP-1 Field, Wingie2, Prophet-10 & Piano Ambient Resonance | Critical Part 2025-11-12 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the @teenageengineering OP-1 field, @MengQiMusic Wingie2, @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, and piano. It features piano performances layered over randomly repeating glockenspiel samples enhanced by resonant tones from the Wingie, creating a delicate ambient atmosphere.
On the OP-1 field, glockenspiel sounds are sampled and sequenced using the ENDLESS sequencer. The output is routed through the Wingie2, which adds resonance and harmonic richness.
The @YamahaSynthsOfficial CP-88 piano continuously plays a repeating chord progression, providing a stable foundation for the piece.
The Prophet-10 performs soft synth tones with a slow attack, processed through the @strymon blueSky for reverb, adding depth and texture to the overall sound."

80s YAMAHA Rhythm Machine RX17 & Kasane Teto sampled OP-1 field | Resolve 2025-11-11 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using the @teenageengineering OP-1 field, @NordKeyboards Nord Lead, @YamahaSynthsOfficial RX17, MU15, and MOTIF-RACK ES. It combines rhythm machine beats, melodies made from sampled vocals of 重音テト Kasane Teto SV, and live bass performance.
On the OP-1 field, the sampler contains Kasane Teto’s voice, which is used to create melodic phrases. At certain points, looping is applied through the NTS-3, and the signal is processed with the @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII.
The RX17 rhythm machine is recorded with an ALESIS 3630 compressor applied.
On the MU15, synth sounds are performed using its built-in keyboard, with reverb added via the blueSky.
The Nord Lead plays melodic parts in the middle section of the piece, processed through the @gfisys Specular Tempus for delay.
The bass is recorded through a SANSAMP Bass Driver DI, routed directly into the audio interface for a clean yet warm tone."
