GS Apollo synthesizer with an LDR

GS Music

"The new Apollo Synthesizer features some CV/gate inputs. They can be used as regular CV inputs using a TS connector. By using a TRS connector it is possible to use an LDR (light sensor) to control any of them.
In this video we are controlling the filter CV input with light intensity."

Fading lights (Genesis cover)

Published on Jun 1, 2020 GS Music

"After implementing some multitimbral capabilities on Zeus, our analog polyphonic synthesizer prototype, I made a virtual reunion with my friends from Selling Broadway (Genesis tribute band) to cover the instrumental part of this song.

All the synth sounds were produced by Zeus. The lower keyboard is a MIDI controller.

The band:
Mariano Redruello: electric guitar
Guillermo Salvat: drums
Guido Salaya: synthesizer

Fading Lights is the twelfth and final song on the album We Can't Dance by Genesis. The song was written by Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford, with lyrics by Tony Banks. It is the longest song on the album."

Only time will tell (Asia cover) with all GS Music synths

Published on May 18, 2020 GS Music

"Asia cover with our friend Juan Grima.

In this video we used Apollo Mini for the synth bass, the Apollo prototype with delay for the lead synth and Zeus for the electric piano like sound.

A Korg TR was used as a controller for both the Apollo Mini and Apollo I (with split keyboard).

'Only Time Will Tell' is the third single (second in the US) released by the progressive rock band Asia from their successful first album, Asia (1982)."

Africa (cover) using Zeus Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer

Published on May 3, 2020 GS Music

"The main synth sound on this song was made with a Yamaha CS-80, so I decided to recreate it with Zeus.
Zeus is an analog polyphonic synthesizer prototype that we are developing in GS Music, at Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Although this prototype has a 4-octave keyboard and 6 voices, the final version will have a 5-octave keyboard and 12 voices. Pitch bend and modulation wheels will be added too.

A few days ago, we were able to implement some multitimbral capabilities, so we assigned different timbres to the lower and upper keyboards. The lower keyboard is a Yamaha KX-88 MIDI controller.

Africa is a song written by David Paich and Jeff Porcaro.
The song is used in this video te show the capabilities of our synthesizers."

I wonder if this is still playing.

Watcher of the skies intro (cover with analog synthesizer)

Published on Apr 18, 2020 GS Music

"Performing the intro of 'Watcher of the skies' by Genesis using Zeus, an analog polyphonic synthesizer prototype in which we are working.

The sound was creating two sawtooth + pulse oscillators with suboscillators. Some modulation from the polyphonic LFOs to the oscillators and the amplifier was added.
Finally, the sound was processed by the built-in stereo chorus and delay.

Watcher of the skies is a Genesis song and was written by Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford."

Zeus Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer. Changing Presets.

Published on Apr 4, 2020 GS Music

"This time, we are implementing new ideas to improve preset changing.

When the user changes a preset, the new preset is loaded into a buffer, but the actual preset change is made just before a new note is played. This option will be available together with the instant preset change.

The presets shown in this video were created only to show the preset change functionality and will not be part of the factory presets."

Published on Mar 31, 2020 GS Music

"Otro video con el prototipo de sintetizador analogico polifonico Zeus.
En este caso interpretando el tema "Los Delirios del Mariscal", escrito por Anibal Kerpel.
En este video se utilizan los efectos propios del sintetizador.
Algunas proximas mejoras a hacerle son:
Utilizar un codec de mayor resolucion para los efectos, ponerle un teclado de 5 octavas y agregar las ruedas de pitch y modulacion."

New GS Music Zeus Analog Polyphonic & Apollo Mini Desktop Synthesizers

Zeus analog polyphonic synthesizer demo Published on Sep 21, 2019 GS Music

"A short demo of the sounds that can be achieved with Zeus, the analog polyphonic synthesizer made by GS Music."

This one was spotted and sent in via Soviet Space Child.

New synths from GS Music who brought us the Apollo II desktop synth & the Stochastic Inspiration Generator eurorack module. Pics and (Google translated) details of the Apollo Mini follow via http://www.gsmusic.com.ar.

No additional details on the Zeus are up as of this post. Update:details are in:

"Zeus is a multitimbral analog polyphonic synthesizer featuring substractive synthesis. The sound generation is entirely analog. Each voice has two voltage controlled oscillators (VCO), a mixer, a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA). The control signals on each voice are digitally generated by a microcontroller, which is capale of processing three low frequency oscillators (LFO) and two ADSR envelopes (EG). This synthesizer is still a prototype.

Zeus interface was designed to be intuitive with all the controls on the panel. It also features a graphic display to show the different parameters and curves. For example, it can show the envelope curves.

Specifications

Keyboard: 49 keys, velocity sensitive with aftertouch
Polyphony: 12
Oscillators: 2 voltage-controlled analog oscillators (VCO) with sub-oscillators. Hard sync.
Oscillators waveshapes: Triangular, Saw-Tri, Sawtooth, Pulse with PWM. It is possible tomix pulse with other waveshape
Filter (VCF): 24dB/oct (4 poles) low pass filter with resonance control
Envelopes: 2* (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release), Velocity to Attack
LFO: 3
LFO waveshapes: Triangular, Rampa up, Rampa down, Square, Sample and Hold
Effects: Chorus, Delay
Presets: TBD
Connections: MIDI IN, MIDI OUT, MIDI Thru, Audio Output (Plug 1/4” TRS balanceado), Sustain, USB, Filter CV, Amplifier CV, Audio input.
Power supply: AC 220V"

"The GS Apollo Mini is an analog subtractive synthesis synthesizer. The sound is generated in a totally analog way, with two voltage controlled oscillators (VCO), a mixer, a voltage controlled filter (VCF) and a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA). The control signals are digitally generated by a microcontroller, which is capable of processing two low frequency oscillators (LFO) and one envelope (EG) of the ADSR type.

The Gs Apollo Mini interface was designed to be simple and intuitive. It has 18 knobs and 3 buttons. It allows to generate a great variety of sounds.
