1982 Nuova Elettronica LX-520 Monophonic Analog Synth

video upload by Enzo Boldrini

via this auction

"Rare monophonic analogue synth LX-520, by Nuova Elettronica, made in Italy, in very good conditions."

This appears to be the first one featured on the site. Nuova Elettronica was an Italian DIY electronic magazine publication. You can find a few pics below and a couple of other projects, one of which was another synth, in previous posts here.

Guitar Sound Processor - Nuova Elettronica

video by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

Multivox MX-3000 at 1:09.

"A quick sound test of the very rare multi-effect unit from Italy.

Looks great, rather big with nice knobs.

These were sold as kits via mail order from the magazine Nuova Elettronica, a subscription magazine that offered build-it-yourself kits of all kinds of gear, hi-fi amplifiers and short wave radios, but also music gear such as drum machines, a couple of synths and effect pedals.

A great helper for organs or cheap string machines or poly-synths that need some flanging and muddy repeats.

The Chorus only affects the Delay repeats, not the dry signal."

Restoring an analog synth part 2

Restoring an analog synth part 2 from amsonx on Vimeo.

"This is the audio version plus some shot of the magazine with synth schemes (audio stop at 1.15)" part 1 here

Update: I asked ams on the forum if he had more info on this DIY synth. He replied with the following: "Yes, i've got all the informations concerning the synth structure, though i'm currently scanning them in order to post them. Im going to post them here on this forum as soon as they'll be ready.

As far as the the magazine is concerned it was a DIY electronic publication named 'Nuova Elettronica' that was very popular in the seventies in Italy. The magazine still exists though and is currently publishing all kind of kit schemes as well as selling the PCB for these kits. Here is the link to their site:

http://www.nuovaelettronica.it/

We were lucky enough to trace back the magazine copies with the different modules schemes in a old and dusty electronic shop...

Thanks a lot for publishing this stuff

Cheers,
Diego [amsonx]"
