"Analogue Modular Synthesizer with three independent VCA's. This is a 1U 19" rack module with 3 Voltage Controlled Amplifiers. It has it's own PSU built in so is easy to interface with your existing modules. Fully compatible with Euro Modular and all systems using standard CV's. 110VAC and 230VAC switchable.

A very useful module for all things Analogue Modular And Synthetic. I always think the VCA is an underestimated module within any synth set up. But a good balance is always required and the VCA is essential for patching, modulation and signal processing.

This module has some interesting features inc. simultaneous Log and Lin modulation. VCA 1 Has an inverting signal input which makes Voltage control of Resonance on a VCF easy without the need for extra modules. With a combination of Modulation and Signal levels some nice controlled and smooth signal distortion can be introduced.

If you consider the cost of these as individual modules and space they would take up in your rack your getting a good deal.

Approximately 5 Years old with very careful use.

Everything electronically and physically is in perfect condition. It is one of few made in San Francisco, California in the late 70's/early 1980's.

This module includes one voltage controlled analogue filter that is generated from a CEM 3320 VCF IC, the same filter in a Prophet 5! The surrounding circuitry has been greatly expanded and the best possible parts were used in constructing the UAF VCF module by SMS. Uber Rare SMS Analog Modular Synth Sequencer & Voltage Memory Unit

"SMS Modular 252 Sequencer//Program Memory Programmable Control Voltage Sequencer and Memory System Beyond Rare

Up for auction is a non functioning Salamander Modular synthesizer 252 sequencer and control voltage memorizer! For those in the know, SMS modules are beyond rare as very few systems were built in the late 70's/early 80's due to the overbuilt and expensive nature of SMS modules!

This 252 sequencer/memory unit is in non working condition. It was part of one of the larges SMS systems put together in San Francisco in the early 1980's. From what I've been told this sequencer developed some problems and was pulled from the main modular frame only to never be repaired. I do not at this time have the means to fully test out what exactly is wrong with it and would love to pass on this gem to someone who is interested in devoting some serious service time to get it going. I believe all parts are present on the unit itself except for four 1/8 audio connectors at the very top of the module. These are available almost anywhere for thirty cents to a dollar! Once working though, the SMS operated on standard One Volt Per Octave configuration and as such this unit can be used with a vast assortment of modular synthesizers. I can cycle through 16 different memory locations via an advance and reset inputs. This means it can be used as a programmable voltage sequencer clocked by a standard +5 volt trigger pulse. See the video below for more information regarding where this system comes from. The big black modular is the SMS.

Steckmatrix "Studio Synthesizer" Modular Format Analog Synthesizer

The "Studio Synthesizer" (his name in the documents) was built in the early 1980s for a music institute. His then the price was a good 5-digit range. It was built based on the format module system, which were, according to the designer and builder of some of the modules nor modified. This is now due to space and light overhaul of need (and lack of detailed electronic and time budget) as possible to a collector, analog synth lovers and / or music-electronics hobbyist sale. (... Ok to the highest bidder ...)

It consists of three modules ("Keyboard / Matrix", "Links: VCOs / LFOs, Right: VCF / ADSRs" and a solid metal frame with castors.

He is very elegant in the different parts and dismantled the frame, the modules and the frame are visible to Langen "handle" screws (left of the big picture) is connected.

Also inside the synthesizer is very loving, clean and professionally built.

The (most likely) complete the design, modification and construction documents are supplied in a DIN A4 Ordener. For example, there are even invoices, data sheets used chips, many clean-hands design drawings and even films for the exposure time while platinum production.
