In-Depth Guide to Sonicware Liven Evoke | Part 1 | Overview & Quick Start
video upload by Sonic Cartography
"A big picture overview of the main features of the Sonicware Liven Evoke (table of contents below), as well some tips for quickly getting started with making some interesting sounds and playing music on it, without getting bogged down in the technical details of all the synth's bells and whistles, which will be covered in the next videos in the series. You can get early access to the next video right now (plus bonus goodies, like presets), over at the new Patreon that I am launching in conjunction with this series: / soniccartography .
Next Episodes:
Part 2: Oscillator / Sound Engine Parameters (early access available now on Patreon: / soniccartography )
Part 3: Sound Design (focusing on LFOs).
Part 4: Granular Effects and Reverb
Part 5: Voice Modes & Arpeggiator
Part 6: Chord Mode
Part 7: Sequencer
Part 8(?) - will depend on feedback and questions I receive. Please leave comments! My goal is to help people do whatever I can to be able to use this synth to make their own ambient, cinematic, post-classical, and other kind of electronic (or should I say acoustronic?) music.
The other videos will be shorter than this one. For example, the second one is only 25 minutes. They are focused on specific topics of limited scope, whereas this one is a broad overview. The idea is to start making more bite-size videos than the long-form ones I've tended to make in the past. And the reason for this is to same as the reason for starting the Patreon: to make this channel more sustainable for me and to be able to get back to making videos on a more regular basis.
Table of Contents:
0:00 - intro
0:42 - basic play & performance features (palettes, tracks, octaves, hold, arpeggiator, chord mode, and voice modes)
7:00 - sequencer overview
10:10 - previewing and selecting other palettes
12:55 - opening a blank palette
13:49 - acoustronic flux oscillator / sound engine basics (instrument, wave, and blend)
15:43 - demo of all acoustic instrument sounds
16:51 - secondary parameters and shift holds (very important to know)
18:43 - demo of all electronic wave sounds
20:48 - backtide modulation
23:34 - how to get early access to next episodes in series
24:23 - sound design basics (filter, amp envelope, LFOs, panning, level, & reverb + granular send parameters)
27:53 - adjusting the reverb / secondary functions (also important to know)
31:31 - the cool thing you can do with the Evoke
33:41 - signal chain / sound architecture of the Evoke
34:56 - granular effects + grain patches (including demo of all patches)
39:54 - brief recap + how to quickly start making some music without sequencing
43:27 - saving, renaming, and resetting pattern palettes

Sonicware LoFi-6, Make Noise Strega & Ableton MODE
video upload by Sonicware LoFi-6, Make Noise Strega & Ableton MODE
"Sound: Ambient Drone Sample Pack https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...
A cinematic atmosphere made of sound, not melody.
This is not a collection of loops. It is a carefully curated archive of long-form drone textures, each exceeding five minutes, sculpted for those who create without the need for rhythm, harmony, or resolution. Designed for deep listeners and sound designers.
From seasoned ambient producers to experimental filmmakers, this pack speaks to those who understand that sound can live and breathe without a beat. Built from legendary hardware units and bespoke digital tools, these drones are not simply sounds. They are environments.
What you get
152 Long Drones
Each drone is a sustained sound object, stripped of melodic intention, tonal center, and conventional structure. Yet within that restraint lies a world of motion, tension, and resonance. Ideal for background atmospheres, immersive installations, or the subtle shaping of sonic space.
Crafted with attention to sonic texture
Every file in this pack was created by hand. Each layer was tuned for grain, depth, and movement. This is not the kind of material you will find in generic libraries. It rewards slow listening and detailed placement. If you care about the feel of sound as much as its function, you will feel at home here. Always growing, always free to update
If you have already purchased this pack, new files have already been added at no additional cost. If you are still considering it, now is a good time. Ambient Drone (Sample Pack) is in constant evolution. Once you own it, every update is yours.

Sonicware Liven Evoke as Reverb & Granular Effects Processor | w/ Ambient Ø + Violin | Demo
video upload by Sonic Cartography
"A live performance/demo of me using the Sonicware Liven Evoke as a reverb and granular effects processor with the Ambient Ø, my violin, and a little bit of my voice. I wrote lots of on-screen notes, so I won't say much more here. If anyone doesn't understand English and wants me to write them out here so they can auto-translate them, let me know!"

Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Evoke: DAWN
video upload by SONICWARE
"LIVEN Evoke | Acoustronic Synthesizer with Granular Effect

DAWN
As light slowly breaks through the darkness of night—
a hopeful morning quietly begins to rise.
I jammed this piece on the LIVEN Evoke, imagining it as a scene from a film.
The drone is built on a cello, layered with a SAW PAD waveform using the Harmonic Wave parameter,
moving gently to support the space with a quiet, understated presence.
Chords are softly played on an oboe, while the violin uses a string ensemble-style waveform pitched one octave down,
adding a grounded presence that stands out quietly in the mix.
The piano plays a repeating phrase sent through GRAIN FX.
The FX is set to fifth-aligned mode, allowing grains to extend up to two octaves above.
These small, rounded grains roll and shimmer through the space—like scattered particles of morning light.

Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Evoke: Ashen

Ashen
Today I just jammed with the arpeggiator function on the LIVEN Evoke.
The piano part combines the chord function with the arpeggiator to create a simple loop.
Using the HarmonicWave parameter, I subtly added upper harmonics with a shimmer-like effect that catches nicely in the reverb.
In the middle section, I layered a Peruvian flute to bring some organic texture to the chordal atmosphere, using breathy tones rich in fine noise.
For the low end, I used an electric guitar waveform—slightly wah-like and a bit distorted—adding a unique, wavering texture to the mix.

Dr. Endo explores LIVEN Evoke: Tear
video upload by SONICWARE

Tear
It rained today here in Tokyo, where the SONICWARE office is located.
The atmosphere was just right, so I jammed on the LIVEN Evoke with rain and a post-classical mood in mind.
I think I managed to capture the feeling of a calm, structured bowing pattern on the violin quite naturally.
This was achieved by setting longer gate times for the violin, creating a smooth and sustained bowing expression.
The bass line is played on contrabass.
The piano has a subtle touch of GRAIN FX, adding delicate, shimmering high-end grains that color the space gently.
One more track was dedicated entirely to noise, helping to create a sense of space with depth—like a quiet rainfall.

"Kloob - Dark Solstice Echo
A friend of mine lent me the Nord Micro Modular synth, and I'm pretty surprised by its sound — and I still have to dig into the software editor!
All sounds come from hardware synths:
Nord Micro Modular: baasline sequence (midi channel 3).
Micromonsta 2 sounds: pad-drone sequence (midi channel 2) and ‘Sad Pad’ (midi channel 1) played in realtime.
Sonicware Live Ambient 0: sequencer and noise sound in layer 4.
Behringer Edge: Bass-Drum loop.
Hologram Microcosm feeding the ‘Dreamy Pad’.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for support my music!
Cheers,
