Synare S3X Preset 0 Analog Synth Drum
Uploaded by elmadave on Oct 25, 2009
via this auction
"The S3X shares nearly all functions and circuitry with its Synare 3 brother, so the crazy and deep sounds that you can get out of a 3 can be produced with the S3X. In addition to the Synare 3 sounds the S3X includes several key features. The first and most important is the use of an external power supply, so no batteries needed. The unit works with a 12v or 18v 1/8" plug wall adapter and finding one is easy (I can help you locate one if needed). The second feature is a set of presets that allow you to quickly switch to 5 preconfigured sounds (adjustable) with a turn of a knob.
Check out some of my videos of other Synares including an S3X (not the one in the auction but exactly the same model and sounds):" [above]

via this auction
"Think "My Best Friend's Girl" by the Cars, that 'PIEW" sound at the beginning, "Betty Davis Eyes" and many more hits of the late 1970's and early 80's, before it all went keyboard. Hit it with a stick and it makes cool sounds."

M4H03134 - Synare Tympani
YouTube via elmadave | July 13, 2010
This one just went up with no description. Not sure if it's for the one up for auction posted here.
Star Instruments Synare Tympani Analog Synth Drum
via this auction
"The Synare Tympani produces a full tympani-like sound in a great range of octaves. You can adjust the tympani's ringing up and down sweep, decay (from staccato tom sounds to long decays), sensativity, and volume. You can also connect a pedal to modify the tuning in real-time, if you have one."

VINTAGE SYNARE P.S.
via this auction
"This never sold new old stock Snare P.S. synthesizer drum machine recently discovered in our 40+ year old music store is in fantastic cosmetic condition. All controls seem to work fine, but two pads work and two do not. The neoprene drum pads and slider knobs have deteriorated and will need replacing. Amazing variety of sounds and tones. Sold as is for project, parts, or repair. Comes with the original owners manual and sales brochure."

Star Instruments Synare Tympani Synth Drum
via this auction
"Here is a hard to find Synare Tympani synth drum made by Star Instruments in the early 80s. It's in terrific shape and works perfectly. What makes this one unique is the remote "Tune" selector box custom made for the original owner by the inventors to allow quickly switching to any of 6 user-preset base frequencies. It truly is a 1-of-a-kind package (actually 2 of a kind since I also have its sibling which was created at the same time).
