New Vintage Synthlab AWM-3 Wavefold Mixer Eurorack Module

Published on Jan 2, 2017 Vintage Synthlab

Playlist:

1. AWM-3 Demo #1 : Eurorack analog wavefold mixer module introduction to wave shaping

"First video to introduce the AWM-3 16hp Eurorack modular wave-shaping mixer. An essential tool and utility combined that will give you real-time analog signal processing and the ability to produce new and unique sounds. The AWM-3 is a 16hp Eurorack modular synthesis wave-shaping / wave-folding mixer with added features of compression and multiple mix modes, including matrix mix outputs. This video shows the basic setup for wave-folding."

2. AWM-3 Demo #2 : Eurorack analog wavefold mixer module compression feature

"The second demo for the AWM-3, a 16hp Eurorack modular synthesis wave-shaping / wave-folding mixer with added features of compression and multiple mix modes, including matrix mix outputs. In this video, we demonstrate the compressor feature."

3. AWM-3 Demo #3 : Eurorack analog wavefold mixer module LFO modulation to wave shaping

"The third demo for the AWM-3, a 16hp Eurorack modular synthesis wave-shaping / wave-folding mixer with added features of compression and multiple mix modes, including matrix mix outputs. This video shows one example of connection external modulation sources (LFOs in this case) and applying them to each wave-fold bias (CV input) for each wave-fold stage while in a triple-wave-fold configuration."

4. AWM-3 Demo-4 : Eurorack modular wave-shaping mixer module

5. AWM-3 Demo #5 : Stereo Chorus effect with wavefolding and matrix-mixing

Details on the module via VSL:

"AWM-3 - Analog Wavefold Mixer

Analog Wavefold Mixer Eurorack Module in 16HP

$279.00

The AWM-3 is an all analog, real-time, complex wave-shaping (triple wave-folder) 3-channel mixer module with added features of compression and multiple mix modes including matrix mixes. The combination of multiple access points (outputs of various mixes), wave-folding, and compression allow for an extremely wide array of signal processing, including complex chorus-like sounds.

All three channels are identical and can operate independently. They can also be cascaded (connected in series) to obtain double and triple wave-folding. The compressor at the front-end of each channel allows for not only unique wave-shaping, but the ability to send asymmetrical wave-shaped signals through multiple wave-fold stages while preserving a better managed signal process.

With individual outputs for each channel, a master mix (and master level control), as well as three matrix mix outputs as: “MIX 1+2” (1 OUT + 2 OUT), “MIX 2+3” (2 OUT + 3 OUT), “MIX 1+3” (1 OUT + 3 OUT), the AWM-3 is wave-shaper, signal processor, and multi-mode mixer.

VSL Modular Jam 20160909-1

Published on Sep 9, 2016 Vintage Synthlab

"Three VCF-74 modules...

1) First VCF-74: White Noise in, with LP cutoff modulated by S&H, which is triggered/clocked by snare hit trigger

2) Second VCF-74: Main VCO (bass line), with LP cutoff being modulated by a mix of S&H and Sqaurewave (both clock divided-driven)

3) Third VCF-74: Secondary VCO (lead synth line), ran through EH Cathedral Reverb pedal."

Vintage Synth Lab - VCF 74 *First Patch*

Published on Sep 20, 2016 DivKidVideo

Watch your volume levels for this one - some glitchy sound at times.

"The VCF-74 from Vintage Synth Lab is a discrete diode filter inspired by the 1970s Mini-Korg 'Traveller'. I think it's ace! Here it is sounding thick and bulbous with my *First Patch*. The idea with the *First Patch* videos to to share a quick demo showing off the direct sound and the first few things the module makes me want to do. Full overview coming soon."

Details on the Vintage Synth Lab VCF 74 previously posted here.

Vintage Synth Lab VCF-74 Voltage Controller Filter Eurorack Module

"Voltage Controller Filter

The VCF-74 is a 14HP analog voltage controlled filter in Eurorack format. VCF-74 features a dual analog highpass and lowpass filter, cascaded (series, from HP > LP). The discrete diode filter circuit is inspired by the 1970s Univox Mini-Korg synthesizer's "Traveler" filter section which provides warm, organic sound to your modular system. A stage boost switch allows you to drive the 2nd filter section (Low-Pass) with a +5.3dB signal boost from the High-Pass output signal creating a warm saturation. Independent manual resonance controls per filter section allows you to fine-tune a wide variety of focused sound. Input and Output level controls allow you to optimize dynamic range, including how hard you drive the filter--which drastically changes the dynamic interplay between signal and harmonic resonance. Both High-Pass and Low-Pass circuits have independent "offset" controls that will allow for fine tuning of each filter's cutoff. The VCF-74 can be set up as a Low-Pass, High-Pass, or Band-Pass filter. Width of the Band-Pass can be adjusted by simply dialing in the offset controls appropriately.
