GetLoFi Cell phone MIDI Loop Sequencer Final
YouTube via circuitmaster | September 30, 2010
"This is a demonstration of the GetLoFi MIDI Loop sequencer on a Nokia cell phone. The program is a Java application that theoretically should work on a wide range of older cell phones including a Blackberry device. Anything that supports J2ME.
More information soon at www.getlofi.com
The App can be downloaded from http://www.getlofi.com/getlofi.jar
The Controls are pretty simple.
Number keys 1-8 randomly choose a pattern from 99 preset MIDI phrases for that spot on the sequence. 9 Key randomly selects phrases for all spots.
0 Key clears all patterns out and sents the Self Play Mode, and ( *, # ) adjust the length of the pattern sequence.
There is no tempo control, except for what is in the MIDI phrase files themselves."

AURORA - TENORI on SMARTPHONE! for Windows Mobile - Review and Demonstration Song
YouTube via VJFranzK
"Like Tenori-On on your Smartphone! As good as any synth app yet for iPhone, this is amazing synth power and fun usability in a small package you can take anywhere.
Just don't be surprised if you miss a few phone calls using your Windows Mobile machine to make music instead!
(Hopefully they will make this for iPhone / iPad after I get one of those! They could sell a million copies.)"

I See Beats
I See Beats from Kyle McDonald on Vimeo.
"Cell phone-based beat sequencer, a small-crowd improvisation interface. Developed in an afternoon with a webcam, projector, and Open Frameworks. Squares of the video are thresholded for average brightness, and when the line reaches them MIDI notes are sent to Reason.
This was mostly inspired by "I Eat Beats" vimeo.com/625464 which could only support two or three hands simultaneously -- I wanted to allow for more people simultaneously.
This first performance/demo is from a local open mic. Next time I'd like to get some more musicians involved -- maybe a bassist and kit drummer improvising with the crowd...?
Message me if you'd like the source. Huge thanks to Blair for recording some video!"

YouTube via suckho. via Failed Muso.
"BeatEd homepage:
http://www.byterapers.com/BeatEd/
BeatEd is a simple drum machine application for Symbian S60 mobile phones. It was originally developed in couple of nights to get a drum machine and metronome application for personal guitar playing purposes. After getting a lot of new ideas and positive feedback, I decided to improve it a bit and make a decent public release of it. So here it is, have fun!
Feature highlights:
- Easy to use beat editor, even easier beat player.
- Change tempo and volume while playing.
- Edit beat on-the-fly while playing.
- 16 bit 16 channel audio mixer.
- Extremely accurate beat timing (1-999 BPM).
- Real-time VU meters.
- 16 different drum tracks.
- Supports S60 v3.x mobile phones.
- Adjusts to different screen layouts.
- Random volume variance.
- and much more..
Supported devices:
- All S60 3rd edition devices (Forum Nokia list)
Tested devices:
- Nokia 6120 Classic, N82, N91, N93i, N95, E51, E60, E65, E70, E90 Communicator
Sorry about the crappy sound quality in the video! It's due to the camera I used, not the software :)"
