Sauce of Unce 1

Published on May 28, 2014 cirtcele·128 videos

"First test with this circuit. It is intended to be functionally the same as the Buchla 265 SOU but has had a number of changes to use common off-the-shelf components. The PCB is Eurorack compatible and Pots, sockets & LEDs are all soldered directly to the PCB, no wiring.

In this vid, the module outputs are simply connected to the CV in of a VCO. First the Random voltage output (smooth) and then the Stored Random voltage output (stepped). The outputs range from 0-10V but can be adjusted to reduce to a lower range if desired."

short demo of the single jerkoff PCB

Published on Dec 24, 2013 cirtcele·113 videos

"Just a minute showing the single Jerkoff PCB in action, for much of it the circuit is getting a square wave input. This is a chaos circuit based on the jerk equation and its electronic implementation by JC Sprott."

I created a new JC Sprott label. There was a post mentioning Sprott and a chaos module back in 2008 here.
Also cirtcele is nonlinearcircuits.

optocoupler based dual ladder VCF - testing

Published on Oct 17, 2013 cirtcele·97 videos

"Listen with good headphones or speakers - lots of bottom end!
This circuit is still quite rough and I haven't settled on all the component values yet. It uses dual opto-coupler ICs - LED to transistor - to form two ladder VCFs. One is a diode ladder similar to the EMS design, the other is similar to the TB-303 transistor ladder, with many parts left off.
The diode ladder gets the audio input and the LEDs transfer the audio over to the transistor ladder, so both VCFs run in parallel but can be tweaked individually. The PCB version will have individual freq CV inputs and a 'both' CV input.
The outputs will be available separately plus a mixed output and possibly a difference output; only allowing the parts that are different between the two signals. It goes without saying the mixed output simply blows chunks!"

6 x VC Slew

Published on Sep 20, 2013 cirtcele·96 videos

"This module replaces the 6 VCAs in the nonlinearcircuits filter panel. I just don't really use VCAs much, so 6 in a panel was a waste of space. So 6 VC Slews, much more fun. In this vid, they are fed gates from the bindubba sequencer and then slewed by LFOs. The outputs control VCOs and VCFs."

CAseq split sand

Published on Jul 15, 2013

"For builders of the Cellular Automata sequencer - this video demonstrates how to split apart the two PCBs and sand the edges to remove splinters. Perhaps a bit too obvious but I mainly want to allay fears that the boards can be damaged by this process."

dr gogo

Published on May 16, 2013 cirtcele·80 videos

"dr gogo is based on the analogue board of the DR-55 drum machine. Individual trigger inputs for the 4 drum sounds, accent gate input. Pots for RS tune and BD tune & decay.
I added a noise gate & touch of reverb to the mix, my camera has auto level adjust so in the silent parts it immediately turns the gain up to 11 for a good dose of noise."

dual drum module

Published on May 16, 2013

"two drum modules, these use envelope followers, crude VCOs and VCAs, so can simply be used as VCOs as well. These are based on designs published in an old Japanese magazine article, I heard these demonstrated by Under Techno Systems at a Tokyo synth meet back in 2004 and never forgot how fantastic they sound. They have been changed a lot from the original design but the basic circuit blocks are the same."
