Filter & VCA factory - Centaur's Gate demo - Shakmat Modular
video upload by Stazma
"Today we dive into the Centaur's Gate by Shalmat Modular.
This guy is a very flexible dual module that can do pretty much anything filter or amplitude related. From clean and liquid sweeps to sreaming resonance, as well as crunchy VCA and gentle Lowpass Gate.
Have fun!!!"

Shakmat Modular Workshop at SchneidersLaden
video upload by SchneidersLaden
"On September 26th, Shakmat Modular hosted an exclusive workshop at SchneidersLaden’s former showroom in Kreuzberg. Known for their innovative, performance-oriented Eurorack modules, Shakmat founder François Gaspard demonstrated unique patching techniques and musical workflows, offering deep insights into their design process.
After the presentation, the evening transitioned into an informal gathering with drinks, allowing attendees to connect with fellow enthusiasts and the creators themselves. A perfect blend of learning, creativity, and community at one of the last workshops in the beloved Kottbusser Tor showroom!"

Making Modular Musical: Quantizer Tips & Tricks (feat. Omri Cohen + Shakmat Bard Quartet)
video upload by Perfect Circuit
"We've all heard it before: 'That's cool, but can you make MUSIC with that thing!?'
Modular synthesizers are notoriously good at all manner of sonic chaos—but with some practice and some clever techniques, it's easily possible to turn your Eurorack system into a source of cascading, gorgeous generative harmonies. It. can be as harmonious (or discordant!) as you want it to be. One of the most important tools for wrangling the chaos and making it 'musical'? Quantizers—an important tool in any melody-oriented modular artist's toolkit.
In this video, our friend @OmriCohen-Music shows us some of HIS favorite tips and tricks for generating harmonies and melodies with modular synthesizer—all focused around the spectacular Shakmat Bard Quartet quad quantizer. Buckle in...there's a lot to learn!

First jam with Centaur's Gates by Shakmat
video upload by Stazma
"The guys at Shakmat Modular sent me a bunch of modules to try a few month ago already, mostly their Bard Quartet that I shown in a few videos already. But last week they sent their new Centaur's Gates that I was very curious about. Here is my first jam with it, in a very "Wect Coast" style, using both sides of the modules as Low Pass Gates in serie (it's a thing I do often).
Flancher 5 for dark delays and Fostex 3180 on the spring reverb duty.
Have fun!"

Shakmat Centaur's Gates: Demo
video upload by Shakmat
"The Centaur’s Gates is a fully analog signal path dual multi-types gate. Each of its two channels can take many forms : a smooth and warm two poles filter, a ready to ping low-pass gate, a VCA with distorting feedback loop, or an aggressive filter reminiscent of the unfamous Korg MS20. Both versions of the filter are available in three modes (low-pass, band-pass and high-pass), bringing to eight the number of types a channel can take the form of.
The extended sonic palette the Centaur’s Gates delivers is not its only asset as the module includes handy features such as serial/parallel routing, vactrol analog emulation, control link, variable input gain with drive, Select Bus compatibility, and last but not least, clickless switching for channels type selection via cv.

Shakmat Archer's Rig: Demo
video upload by Shakmat
"The Archer's Rig boasts a quiver full of digital noise generation algorithms, offering sharp and cutting sound sources for hi-hat and high-pitched percussion synthesis. As our archer has more than one string to its bow, he processes its source material through a versatile analog chain featuring filters, distortion, and a VCA. Randomizer, a memory of 96 presets, and compatibility with select bus protocol round out the Archer's capabilities, making it a powerful tool for creating a vast and personalized sonic palette.

Inverted echoes (a modular patch idea)
video upload by Electrum Modular
"The aim here – besides trying out the TSNM as an expressive keyboard – was to generate an inverted echo, so that a descending melody comes back as an ascending one, or vice versa. (I stole this idea from Bach, who often used contrapuntal inversion, playing the theme “upside-down”).
Mutable Instruments’ Beads (in delay mode) is perfect for this, but any module with a long delay would work. The other crucial ingredient is a multi-channel mixer/attenuverter such as Make Noise Maths (here, I’m using Acid Rain’s Junction).
Other modules used:
Intellijel’s Bifold
Intellijel’s Dixie II+
Intellijel’s Scales
Shakmat’s Banshee Reach
ALM’s Pamela’s New Workout
ALM’s MFX
ALM’s Pip Slope

5 kick drum patches with Shakmat Battering Ram
video upload by Tom Churchill
"Shakmat’s Battering Ram is a great-sounding kick drum module that I’ve been using for a few weeks now. It’s already made an appearance as a supporting player in my last couple of videos, but I wanted to do a demo where it’s front and centre, because it has some pretty cool tricks up its sleeve."

Shakmat Clock O'Pawn MK2: Demo
video upload by Shakmat
"The Clock O’Pawn mk2 serves as a versatile clock device, taking on the role of true 'chef d’orchestre' for your modular system. Its transport section lets you start, stop, and reset instruments synchronized with its intuitive internal clock or have your setup dance with your MIDI equipment.
If you find metronomic clock signals uninspiring, a variety of groove patterns and clock humanization features enable the maestro to guide your setup with distinctive shuffles and swings. To complete this rich set of features in a small yet powerful clock source: presets memory, select bus compatibility, and several handy options to configure the Clock O'Pawn the way it suits you the best.

Shakmat Battering Ram: Demo
video upload by Shakmat
"The Battering Ram is a bass drum synthesizer based on an original design by Marc Nostromo. This module offers precise control over various parameters, including decay, tuning, depth, click amount, and drive. These controls have been thoughtfully mapped to provide sweet spots at every combination of potentiometer settings. The drive section can seamlessly transition between two distinct wave-shaping modes, ranging from smooth drive/compression to hard-clipping distortion for core music lovers. For smooth modular integration, there's an additional output that mirrors the amplitude envelope or its inverted shape.
The module also boasts other convenient features, such as storing and recalling potentiometer settings, a 3-pole high-pass filter, and the option to use gates instead of triggers. Despite its compact size, the Battering Ram delivers a diverse range of bass drum sounds, from long sub-bass drums to aggressive techno kicks.

Shakmat Modular Battering Ram Eurorack Kick
video upload by Sound Provider / Leonard de Leonard
"I'm so excited and honored to be a beta tester for the prototype of Battering Ram, the Eurorack module from Shakmat Modular in collaboration with my friend and Genius Marc Nostromo, the guy behind Ableton Drum Buss and Drift. So far, I love the sound (it can be sooo deep, perfect for Techno and electronic music but not only!)and I'm impressed by its real simplicity and efficiency. I hope I ll be able to do longer/better demo with the final version ."
