Announcing PATH an analog morphing router for audio & CV by DivKid & Vostok Instruments
video upload by DivKid
"Come and meet PATH the new DivKid & Vostok Instruments analog morphing router that is OUT NOW as assembled modules and DIY kits. Path builds on the interpolating scanner technology of Trace and performs the opposite function, rather than Trace doing 4 input scanning to 1 output, Path takes 1 input and morphs it across 4 outputs. Like a quad panner, open for creative audio and CV routing."

00:00 Hello & previews
01:37 What is Path? Feature run down
03:08 Advanced FX sends with trails
06:19 Powerful modulation (+Trace combo!)
11:42 Unique panning FX (alternative to a quadrophonic panner)
14:39 Distributing triggers for filter ping riffs!"

"Path is a four-channel Interpolating Router created in collaboration between Vostok Instruments & DivKid.
Born from the roots of our previous module, Trace, Path picks its central concept and does something relatively simple yet powerful: it flips it.
The circuit routes one signal to four possible outputs, fading from one to the next following a soft slope response to ensure smooth transitions.
Path counts with Trace’s best features. It shares the same DC-coupled interpolating circuit at its heart, making it perfect for experimenting with any signal on any of its inputs.
Thanks to the fixed voltage normalled at its main input, Path is also a versatile and unique modulation source out of the box.
Its compact size and layout make Path a very performative and handy tool for adding an organic layer of movement and experimentation to every patch."

DivSkip: Exploring Speed Ramps
video upload by Making Sound Machines
"This clip showcases one of our favourite modes on DivSkip, our module collaboration with @DivKid, speed ramps for triggers!
DivSkip's channel 1 is set to play a house pattern with a 4/4 kick on Out A, and a snare on the upbeats on Out B. The Kick trigger is going directly @VladimirPantelic ‘s VPME QD quad drum. The snare trigger is duplicated with Multiplikand, and used both as trigger for channel 4 and an 808 snare on Mutable Instruments Peaks.
DivSkip's channel 4 is set to ramp mode. Depending on how the knob is set, the time between two triggers will speed up or slow down. This speed ramp advances an arpeggio played on the @weareelektron8453 Model:Samples in single cycle waveform mode.
Finally, #DivSkip 's channel 2 is playing a noise model on Mutable Instruments Plaits, with the A and B outputs triggering different settings using @vaskiembedded‘s super handy ECS-4 Triggered Switch module.
Enrica mutes and unmutes each channel on the fly with a click of the push potentiometer.
DIY Kits are in stock at @ThonkSynthDIY (UK) and @NightlifeElectronics (CAN - DIY and built), and at @explodingshed5542 (EU)
Built modules are available at @signal-sounds (UK), @PerfectCircuit (US), and for preorder at @Elevator-Sound (UK+EU) and @schneidersladen_berlin (EU)"

Euclidean Beats on DivSkip
video upload by Making Sound Machines
"Getting ready for Machina Bristonica 2024 in Bristol UK, coming up this weekend! We are having a workshop on Saturday starting 14.00 where you can build our DIY kits or a @plinkysynth with us! And on Sunday at 14.15, we will be on the DivKid stage chatting with Ben about Life, the Universe and Modular. Come meet us there, and bring your best questions!
In this last-jam-before-the-flight-leaves, we are exploring the Euclidean Modes built into DivSkip, our module collaboration with @DivKid.
Euclidean rhythms are a fun and intuitive way to generate looping musical patterns. #DivSkip has two modes that generate Euclidean rhythms. The one used here, Euclidean Split, always sets three steps and distributes them over a pattern length that can be adjusted using the knob.
In this patch, Enrica adjusts the length of the pattern which in turn advances alternating bass and chord notes played on the @WeAreElektron Model:cycles. This results in cool syncopated, rhythmic shifts throughout the sketch.
She adds a shifting pattern of ghost notes with a clock divider on DivSkip's channel 3, set to three steps. The sound is generated using Mutable Instruments Plaits, with the A and B outputs triggering alternating CV settings using @vaskiembedded's ECS-4 Triggered Switch module.
DivSkip's channel 1 is set to play a four-to-the-floor pattern on Out A and B, going to kick and snare on @VladimirPantelic's VPME QD quad drum voice.
Enrica mutes and unmutes each channel on the fly with a click of the push potentiometer.
DIY Kits are in stock at @ThonkSynthDIY (UK), @explodingshed5542 (EU) and @NightlifeElectronics (CAN - DIY and built)
Built modules are available at @signal-sounds (UK), @PerfectCircuit (US), @Elevator-Sound (UK+EU) and @schneidersladen_berlin (EU)"

• push-to-mute
• 8 modes per Channel
• LED rings for visualization
SPECS
• 8hp width
• Current draw +12V 45mA & -12V 15mA
• Depth 35mm"
Check with dealers on the right for availability.
video upload by Making Sound Machines
"DivSkip is a four channel trigger / gate processor for Eurorack. Eight modes on four independent channels make this 8HP module a Swiss Army Knife to chain behind clock utilities, trigger sequencers, and logic modules. Each channel can be muted and unmuted with a click of the push potentiometer.
In this patch, Enrica is using Bernoulli mode, adding weighted probability to a swung pattern generated with Stolperbeats. An incoming sixteenth note trigger is randomly sent to either Out A or B, with the position of the potentiometer determining whether an open or closed hihat is more likely to play. This allows her to generate lively rhythmic variation on the fly.
For the cymbal sound, the same mode is patched to set whether the sound is likely to play or not. A simple trigger on the upbeats is transformed into a burst and sent to the Snare module, using #DivSkip in Retrigger mode on channel 4.
All drum sounds are played with @patchingpanda's line of drum modules, with BD-Z on Kick, Hatz on Hihats, Punch and Shuby on Snare and NVHS on cymbals. The chords are played on the @WeAreElektron modelcycles, with all voices set to the same mode."

Trace | Interpolating CV and Audio Scanner | by DivKid and Vostok Instruments
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"As a 4HP utility module, the Trace isn't that special. It's basically four inputs and one output, with a slider to crossfade between the inputs. But still. If you'd want to do something similar, you would need to patch precise CV to smoothly scan through these inputs with a mixer that supports crossfading. Buchla's Voltage Math (Tiptop 257T) has two crossfaders on board, and you may have a MakeNoise XPAN nearby. I also think it would be possible with a big mixer and a Mutable Tides to slowly fade in/out. The vintage and discontinued MakeNoise RxMx was all about scanned mixing and offered six channels. But I don't think there's anything that can do this in 4 HP. DivKid has a talent to identify the things we're missing in our cases and the Vostok/Divkid Trace is a valuable addition to any patch that involves a VCO with multiple outputs or lots of CV. Highly recommended and lots of fun."

video upload by DivKid
"MEET MANIC! The new DivKid & Apollo View Modular Eurorack module. Designed to be a precise and flexible VCA with SUPERPOWERS!
Manic is built for stereo at it’s core, crossing VCA, ring modulation, wavefolding (in both Serge and Buchla variants), and saturation (TanH soft clipping and hard clipping) with a host of features in a compact 8HP interface ready to ignite your audio and CV patching and processing.
Manic is out now in all good modular stores.
Manic manual and links on the DivKid website // https://divkidvideo.com/manic/"
An Apollo View Modular & DivKid collaboration
Manic introduces an exploration of dual channel mono, mono to stereo or true stereo modulation and sound shaping within a sleek 8HP module designed for both creative freedom and technical precision. Each channel offers precision linear VCA functionality with traditional unipolar amplitude control or bipolar behaviour for complex ring modulation effects. While we all need more VCAs! The secret sauce lies in the post VCA shape outputs.
The Shape1 output features TanH soft clipping and Serge-style wavefolding, while Shape2 boasts hard clipping alongside a Buchla-style wavefolder. The contrasting topologies between the left and right channels unlock dynamic stereo widening effects, making the stereo image both expansive and mesmerising. While the circuits are different they have been tweaked to provide variance for creating stereo images from mono sources while also working with stereo inputs for a balanced, yet enhanced stereo spread.
Designed to excel with both audio and CV signals, Manic effortlessly processes incoming signals for a broad spectrum of uses. The intuitive layout ensures immediate hands on control making it ideal for live performance and studio experimentation.
FEATURES
A collaborative design from both DivKid & Apollo View Modular
Selectable unipolar or bipolar VCA circuitry per channel
Three distinct shape outputs per channel: Inverted, Clipped, and Wavefolding
TanH soft clipping & hard clipping
Serge style wavefolding & Buchla style wavefolding
Stereo operation with perfectly matched gains for the clipping and wavefolding circuits, creating a stunning stereo widening effect.
DC-coupled signal path for processing both audio and CV signals.
Input and modulation normalisations for simple mono to stereo operation
Flexible signal flow allows for creative combinations, such as ring modulation into clipping or wavefolding.

"In case you missed the live stream at the time, made it but would like to watch again, or were even at the in person event itself and wish to relive the beer, pretzel and modulation good times... here's a fresh 4k HD edited version of the OCHD-OBER-FEST event that myself (DivKid), Instruo and Signal Sounds had back in October 2023 to launch the new ochd expander.
I've also just put up a new video with the case and patch that I set up for this event. This was filmed more long form and in detail when I got back home. It's a polyphonic, generative ambient piece that makes use of lots of ochd and it's expander. Check it out here // [below]

The patch that launched the OCHD EXPANDER // Polyphonic Generative Ambient Eurorack Modular
video upload by DivKid
"Here we have a detailed run down of the patch that launched the expander. I brought this case and exact patch back from my journey up to Glasgow for the OCHD-OBER-FEST live event with Instruo in Signal Sounds. We launched the ochd expander at that event and this patch was my demo for that event. Note - you can check out the live event re uploaded and editing in 4k below.
This is patch is a 4 voice, polyphonic generative ambient piece that uses 4 wavetable oscillators into 4 VCAs for heavily modulated chordal sound sources. That is then tone, drive and level modulated before feeding two FX with a novel patch routing. It's highly dynamic, from near silent quiet sections to loud sections. All that dynamism comes from ochd and the ochd expander."

DivKid Showcase | Mutes | Ochd | Rnd Step | Ochd Expander | Ochd + Ochd + Expander
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"One of the first voices I heard when I started modular in 2018 was Ben DivKid Wilson's and it's been my goto channel for learning a new module ever since. The DivKid modules are simple, affordable and small, but offer something that wasn't there before they were released. I used them in almost all my patches, often off-screen or underexposed. In my first Ochd video (January 2020) it doesn't even show. With the release of the Ochd expander I realized how important these modules are for my case. This DivKid Show is a contribution to the contributions Ben already made to the modular community. For those who are new to modular it's cool to have all modules in one video (except Stereo Strip, I don't have it). The shots from his videos are used without kind permission but I am sure it's OK. As always I am not affiliated with anyone or anything.
The opening music is an adapted remix of one of Ben's youtube music library tracks (empty moons of Jupiter), free for everyone to use on videos."
