The Bateleur VCO /Nerdseq- XOR /Primary Oscillator /PICO DRUMS ,Black Hole DSP -Erica Synths

Published on Feb 3, 2019 Dziam Bass

"Hey Guys !!
Finally some music. This time I used Nerdseq for the bass line that comes from The Bateleur VCO from birdkids
also cowbel and snare are samples from Nerdseq used from an SD card.
The synth melody is also from Nerdseq but I recorded it through midi to Nerdseq and plays the Primary Oscillator module from Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers with added Black Hole DSP- Erica Synths reverb. Kick and hat comes from PICO DRUMS -Erica Synths later after 2:30 I also added one voice similar to Horns this is from PICO VOICE - Erica Synths plus Pico DSP reverb.
It's nicely subtle combined in the mixer tube Fusion Mixer plus Black Stereo Mixer - both from Erica Synths.
It was a nice evening and I recorded this live when the whole sound comes only from my modular system"

NERDSYNTH Demo 03/2016

Published on Mar 22, 2016 firestARTer

"This is the march 2016 update of the Nerdsynth. The Nerdsynth is a tracker based Groovebox, Workstation, Analogue and Digital Synthesizer, Visualizer and Experimentizer in one machine.

This video shows some of the updates since the last demo video. Basically, some graphical updates such as that you an see the pattern state in the sequencer screen, each track is running now completely independent from the other which allows odd rhythmic sequences. The instrument screen parameters got a ‘progressbar’ and switch style look now. And most important 2 new visual tracks are added which are edited and triggered the same way as the musical tracks. All of the videos visuals are generated live with the Nerdsynth. I prepared some visual sequences which i show later in the video by switching from 'screen clone mode' to the 'visual sequencing mode'. The visuals and the music are live sequenced and manipulated. The music is based on some simple patterns (using the ATmegatron and the Meeblip Anode cartridges for the melody and some drum-samples for the rhythm patterns, Baseline inspired by Joyce Sims). Some graphics are provided by Ville Konttinen.
Keep in mind that the visuals part is in its very first version and there is much more to come.

NERDSYNTH DEMO 2015

Published on Dec 3, 2015 firestARTer

Audio comes in at :35. Additional audio demos below. The NERDSYNTH was first posted here on MATRIXSYNTH back on March 16 of 2014. The engine then was based on the ATMegatron from Soulsby Synthesizers. There's no mention of it below, so I'm not sure if that has changed.

Prototype image to the left. Render below.

"The Nerdsynth is a hardware analogue and digital synthesizer, groovebox, sampler, tracker, visualizer, digitizer, music instrument and experimentizer in one machine.

This video shows the recent development stage around december 2015. The Nerdsynth has 6 polyphonic tracks which are connected to several soundchips/synthesizers. 1 Track to the internal Nerdsynth soundchip, 1 ( with 4 sub tracks ) is used as sampler. The 4 other tracks are connected to external sound cartridges which are inserted in the Nerdsynth. Those are the synthesizer cores and soundchips of the ATMegatron, Meeblip Anode, DSP-G1 and Soundgin. More cartridges are in development like a SID cartridge, YM/AY, OPL3 and several analogue and digital synthesizer designs.
The aim is to make the Nerdsynth a real product but there is still alot to do hard and softwarewise.

ONE MUSIC PRODUCTION TOOL FOR ALL YOUR DESIRES!
The Nerdsynth is a analogue and digital synthesizer, groovebox, sampler, tracker, visualizer, digitizer, music instrument and experimentizer in one machine.

tracker style sequencer (inspired by LittleSoundDJ / LittlePiggyTracker)
6 mono- and polyphonic audio tracks
several tracks free configurable with different sound cartridges (eg. SID, YM/AY, OPL3, online DIY synthesizer projects, digital and analogue)
multi track sampler
dedicated visual track for experimental visuals (video out)
easy workflow, parameters are realtime accessable through several knobs, rotary encoders and a X/Y touchscreen
internal mixer and effect unit
stereo line out, headphone out and dedicated track line outs per track
midi In/Out
portable (with internal accu) and studio use
They are many more features which make the Nerdsynth a perfect music production and experimentation tool not only for trackers but for every musician!"

NerdSynth DEMO 1

Published on Mar 16, 2014 firestARTerFHolle·8 videos

"First (bad audio quality) demo of the NerdSynth Digital Tracker Groovestation.
Check http://www.nerdsynth.com for informations

In the video you can see our proof of concept of a hardware sound-tracker-synthesizer. The first part shows the sequencer screen and then the patternscreen, where after some editing the audio starts. As audio engine (audio-hardware will be assignable) we use the code of the popular 8bit style synthesizer ATMegatron from Soulsby Synthesizers. http://www.soulsbysynths.com

The NerdSynth is in a very early development stage. So they are some glitches here and there. But in general, it shows what to expect in the future. We will add high quality audio very soon.

The NerdSynth is a project by Thomas Margolf and Jan Trompper. The ATMegatron is a Paul Soulsby product."
