Last time we caught up with Ilya from Gamechanger Audio he was in our studio showing us the MotorSynth - the Plasma Voice Modules were almost ready, but not quite finished.
At the show we were able to see - and hear them for the first time, and get another quick peek at the new pedal too.

LondonSXPO-24 PWM: Latest on MANTIS Quad Mode
Always interesing hearing what Paul has been up to with his Malevolent and Mantis models - news is that Mantis is about to ship, and has some interesting new updates to the 'Quad' mode
LondonSXPO-24 Z-RAY: Wireless Lights in a briefcase
This is right up our street - cool portable battery powered wireless stage lights - oh yeah! Dominik had a briefcase full of prototypes for his latest project - to find out more, head to his website at thinkrad.io
LondonSXPO-24 Joranalogue Dim 2 is quite bright actually
In a slightly confusing naming incident, Joranalogue decided to call the latest module 'Dim 2'' - and it is definitely not dim at all. Quite the opposite ;-]
LondonSXPO-24 Apollo View: Rabbit Hole +more
Can't recall coming across Apollo View before, but Jon-Mark was showing some lovely looking modules including the Rabbit Hole - we took a look
LondonSXPO-24 Bastl Intruments channel The Matrix with Neo-Trinity?
Okay, tell me someone hasn't been watching re-runs of The Matrix
... Neo...Trinity..
come on, surely? ;-]
LondonSXPO-24 Vertice Analogue Filterbank from Euterpe
Stefano reckons you should spend a month with his rather splendid 'Vertice' filterbank - a beautiful if brutal instrument. And if his smiles are anything to go by, it should be a fun time :-]

IMPROVE YOUR PATCHING with Eurorack Utilities // IOU from Apollo View Modular

video upload by DivKid

"Hello and welcome to this video in which I go through more than 10 patches that break down how utilities work, how you can use them for audio and CV and how these things can improve your patches.

Whether it's patching your own compressor, precision pitch transposer, turning low pass gates into side chain ducking devices, adding controls to knob-less modules or looking to push the behaviours of other modules ... we've got you covered! These patches are applicable to a wide range of modules, so I hope you find plenty to take away and apply to your systems.

Today also marks the release of two new Apollo View Modular modules, there's 'IOU' that we'll focus on which is a take on the classic utility processes of attenuating, inversion, offset and amplification (with a DivKid requested twist!) There's also a high end dual headphone amplifier called 'CanCan'. Not only is that a nice headphone or output stage, it has a handy VU meter (eye candy!) and if you jam & play with others that's a great tool for dual headphone monitoring.

CanCan // https://bit.ly/AV-CanCan

SUPPORT //
Supporters on Patreon get both an extended 'Precision Pitch Transposing' patch breakdown video as well as a whole other unseen patch not in this demo video. If you'd like access to those, along with the DivKid Discord community, further videos, PDF Patchbooks and more head over to https://bit.ly/DK-patreon , thank you for your support."

NOISE AND DRONES!!

video upload by Signal Sounds

"I thought I'd make an experimental noise and drone rack. My noise sources are the Apollo View Allscillator and the Worng Electronics Acronym. They are going into the Tangle Quartet VCA and being fed through the Apollo View Rabbit Hole - which, by the way, is also capable of generating sound with the feedback switch. From there we go into the stereo filter Parallax. I'm using the Instruo Cnoc (an ablsolue gem of a module) do to cover most of my modulation needs, with the help of Pam's Pro Workout. Beads is always on hand to add some weird magic, and the FX Aid is bring the huge reverb trails.

Going down the Rabbit Hole with Apollo View!

video upload by Signal Sounds

"The Rabbit Hole from Apollo view is a 16HP summing mixer with characterful valve saturation & distortion. Rabbit Hole is a hybrid solid-state and vacuum tube design. It has two input channels with independent vintage VCAs. The outputs of the VCAs are summed and passed to a solid-state Drive circuit which at higher gain settings hard clips the signal before entering the starved cathode dual-triode vacuum tube. The OWTH - Off With Their Heads diode LED clipping circuit can be engaged for further distortion.

Rabbit Hole is capable of adding subtle warmth or total audio destruction. The Curiouser expander module adds an additional 2 inputs. Multiple Curiouser modules can be daisy-chained to suit your mixing requirements.

Tube Distortion In 16hp - Rabbit Hole, Saevitum, Turbo Entubulator

video upload by John Schussler

"I have a 16hp hole in the rack waiting for a tube distortion. Which one do I choose?

Here are three options. There are more at this size, but I happen to have these three.

As it turns out, they're all very different in sound. The Turbo Entubulator specializes in flexible tube tone. The Rabbit Hole heads towards tube-y corruption while still staying somewhat civilized. And the Saevitum, well, it's just angry angry angry.

So I don't really have a choice so much as a selection for rotation, I suppose.
But it's interesting to hear them back to back and really get a feel for the differences in their character.

Input audio was a basic sine wave from a Dixie II+. Sequenced by Stochastic IG.

----------------

Note this appears to be the first post to feature Apollo View and their Rabbit Hole. The Saevitum by Abyss Devices, and Turbo Entubulator by Epicycloid have been featured before. That said, here's some info on the Rabbit Hole for the archvies, followed by a DivKid video.

Packed to the brim with character, Rabbit Hole is the first module by Apollo View, combining facility as a mixer with four stages of saturation and distortion, provided by both tube and solid-state circuits. With two channels labeled A and B, each offers an input VCA with Gain control and control voltage jack. Channels are summed before hitting the Drive circuit, a solid-state design with hard-clipping tendencies at extreme settings, then moving onto the starved 12AU7 tube section. For truly searing patches, flip on the OWTH switch, short for "Off With Their Heads", and make heads roll with a diode clipping circuit. There's also voicing switches for the tube, feedback capabilities, and the option to expand the number of inputs with the Curiouser module. Grit up your patches with Apollo View's Rabbit Hole.

All-analog summing mixer with distortion
2 input channels with OTA VCAs
Gain contrls for Drive and Tube sections
Feedback control with CV input
voicing switch for Tube
OWTH LED clipping stage
Expandable with Curiouser module for more audio inputs

Tube distortion fun, patch hacks & VCA tips // Apollo View Rabbit Hole & Curiouser

video upload by DivKidVideo

"Here we’ll explore making the most of distortion, exploiting tubes for interesting behaviours such as sub harmonic tracking as well as explore lots of VCA and mixing tips for things like building crossfaders out of VCAs. We’ll be doing this while demonstrating the new Rabbit Hole and Curiouser modules from Apollo View. Rabbit Hole is a Eurorack VCA summing mixer with multiple drive stages and tone control and Curiouser is a dual vintage VCA that can be used as an input expander or used standalone."
