Skyrim Main Theme on Eurorack Modular Synthesizer

YouTube Uploaded by crudface on Nov 11, 2011

"Let's do this."

Impressive. The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. On a personal, non-synth note, the Elder Scrolls series are my absolute favorite RPGs, followed by Sir-Tech's Wizardry (I actually played Lord Foul's Bane on an Apple II plus), followed by Might and Magic. Regarding the Elder Scrolls series, I started with Daggerfall and played every game since, finishing all but Daggerfall. Daggerfall was so huge (and I was new to the platform) I ended up getting lost in side quests. They are incredibly open universe games. Massive, beautiful and emmersive. Unfortunately my XBox 360 got the ring of death a second time, AFTER being sent in to Microsoft for the fix. I tried the DIY heatsink compound fix and it died a week later. I no longer have time for gaming with MATRIXSYNTH, but this is the one game that makes me want to pick up a new PlayStation 3.

BlindSide: The Audio Adventure Video Game

On KickStarter

"We’re creating a video game with no graphics, played entirely using audio. It is the first audio adventure of its kind, set in a fully 3D world that you’ll never see.

It's called BlindSide, and it’s one of the first games to bring a brand new gaming experience to sighted players, that can also be fully enjoyed by visually impaired gamers. So far we’ve completed 10 minutes of gameplay to prove out the technology, and demonstrate that our core mechanic is fun. There have been a handful of audio-only games, but nothing like this before.

Korg M50 in Rock Band 3 - Pic of Keyboard Controller

If you haven't heard, Rock Band 3 will feature a keyboard controller. I skipped posting when it was announced as this site is more about specific synths. Well, the interesting bit is the synth in this game shot looks exactly like a KORG M50. I'm curious how that played out and if there will be any other real synth designs in the game.

via Kotaku, via @brandon_dnl

The controller you will play "is a '25-key, fully functioning MIDI' version of the real thing, and is one of two key improvements made to the game, the other being the introduction of a new 'Rock Band Pro' mode for expert players, which replaces coloured tabs with real musical symbols in an effort to get players on the track to playing real instruments."

Update: video below. Comes in at 1:43.

Rock Band 3 - FIRST LOOK!
YouTube via tommyjwall — June 09, 2010 — "Here it is, the first video of Rock Band 3 in action, coming holiday 2010.

The video cuts out at 4:00... please go here to see the full video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7xdnK...

For all the new details on Rock Band 3, go here: http://rockbandaide.com/5615/rock-ban..."

Update: a pic via CDM (click for some additional details)

You can see the MIDI out and, is that a ribbon controller on the handle?

MIDI in for the the Xbox may be coming as well for those that prefer using their own keyboard.

via MrLonghair in the comments: "The keyboard will be available on its own for $79.99, or in a bundle with the game for $129.99."

Update via peterkirn of CDM in the comments: "Yes, that's correct - ribbon controller. I expect to confirm all details with Harmonix but only after the insanity of E3. Then they have the game people out of their hair and can talk to us instead. ;)"

Synth Wars

YouTube via raulsworldofsynths — April 24, 2010 — "Just downloaded a cool application, Sketch Nation Shooter, that creates a game from user generated images. Drew some waveforms, sine, square, triangle, and noise. And it made a game.Pretty fun. Music is not my originals but is included in game."
