"FAEMI-1M was produced by Katchkanar radio equipment factory "Formanta", which is the manufacturer of such well-known makes of synthesizers as Polivoks, Formanta, Manual, Maestro etc. It bears the same logo on the package and retains some of its most impressive capabilities. A polyphonic analog synthesizer FAEMI-1M has a keyboard of 4 octaves. Main generator, infralow frequency generator, lowpass filter, amplifier are in the basis of the synthesis in this instrument. The control panel is divided into 5 sections: generator, timbre, vibrato, filter, amplifier."

"This instrument has been recently serviced at the renowned Perfect Circuit in Burbank, CA. This fully analog vintage synthesizer is in 100% fully functional order. Every key in every setting routed to every output performs impeccably. There is no noise or crackle from any slider. The VCF is lush and expressive. The vibrato, although very subtle, adds a nice warble. This is a very lovely vintage synth capable of shimmering tones and can also get gnarly. Very cool split keyboard assignment options and fully mixable voices."

"One of my Canadian viewers, Atreyu, contacted me and suggested we collaborate on a comparison of the Roland V-Synth XT with VC-1 virtual Roland D-50 card against my real D50 synthesizer from 1988. This sounded itneresting and this video is the result of that collaboration. You will hear audio captured on the D50 followed by the XT which was playing the midi-file that I recorded whilst I was playing the D50. The Roland VC1 V-Card can be used with Roland V-Synth and Roland VariOS sound expansion module. Another chance to enjoy the amazing sounds of the D50 pads and famous presets such as Fantasia, Soundtrack and Digital Native Dance."
