Moog Sonic 6 - Modulation (X/Y) Depth Wheel...
Published on Oct 29, 2017 noddyspuncture
"Just finished adding a modulation wheel to my Sonic 6. Although the Sonic has an X/Y amount control for each oscillator section, if you wanted to add let's say, an equal vibrato effect to both oscillators you couldn't really do it - not whilst also playing anyway. So I decided to tap into the circuit and add a small box containing a stereo pot and a miniature mod wheel assembly I bought on eBay. It works a treat - and I also added a 'bypass' switch which takes the modification out of circuit. The moulded plastic tray behind the keyboard also has some nice compartments in which to install the thing. Had to position it carefully though so that the wheel didn't foul the knobs when the lid was down... no drilling was done and it's totally reversible...!"

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #41: Yamaha VL7 - Song 3
Published on Oct 29, 2017 Christian's Sonic Spaces
"This is the third song with the Yamaha VL7 Version 2. It's a monophonic synthesizer based on physical modelling algorithms. The song is a kind of deep ambient without drums ;-)
I used for the recording the following FX chain:
VL7 - TC Electronic Mimiq - DigiTech Obscura- DigiTech Polara. The used fx varied depending on the recorded track.
The signal goes via a small Behringer mixer straight into the pc.
To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with just a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track."

Theremin Noodle - Moog Theremin , Elecktron Analog Keys + Fairlight Strings
Published on Oct 28, 2017 100 Things I Do
"A quick noodle with the Theremin, I used a little loop on the Elektron Analog Keys and some Fairlight strings to give a little interest. I also added some keys thanks to the Arturia Piano-V.
I have had the Moog Theremin for a few years but one of the problems is it needs a LOT of space around it to be played well. My studio is a converted master bedroom...its big .. but not that big and its quite a squeeze. As such the poor thing sits at the side of the studio waiting for its moment in the sun ... normally around this time of year.. I wonder why ..... :D
The Theremin is recorded live, same with the Elektron. I reversed the sound of the Fairlight stings after recording so that part is a little more impressionistic :D"

Understanding the Buchla Music Easel Pulse Sequencer
Published on Oct 28, 2017 musicalfungus
"A brief tutorial on how to correctly use the 5 switches on the Music Easels Sequential Voltage Source. I admit I had some difficulty understanding what they did until I realized that either the Pulser or the Envelope Generator must be triggered by the Sequencer for those switches to actually perform a function. Hope this helps some new Easel owners understand these switches and how they are used."
