"Here's an excerpt from the manual:

The S1 is a semi-modular, analogue monophonic synthesizer. It is easy to get started with since it is prepatched for optimal use of its sound producing possibilities and eliminates the need for external connections between modules during use. Each module can be disconnected and used separately, e.g. to control or be
controlled by other instruments. This flexibility enables and simplifies experimentation with creation and reproduction of sound.

* Three oscillators with seven basic waveforms
* Ring modulator
* Noise generator with two three noise shapes
* Low pass filter with selectable 4 / 6 poles and quasi band pass mode
* Multi mode filter with selectable 2 to 6 poles and three modes
* Wide range envelope generators
* Master amplifier with build-in overdrive stage
* LFO with seven basic waveforms and wide rate range
* Extensive modulation of, virtually, all synthesis parameters
* Build-in MIDI to CV/gate converter with 16-bit resolution

Several parameters can be voltage controlled by external signals and, simultaneously, control external devices
by the build-in MIDI converters voltage outputs (see Rear Panel). The S1 is a stand alone instrument and the
possibility with patching and integrating it into an external modular (or semi-modular) synthesizer makes it
extremely flexible."

Cwejman S1 MK2 semi-modular synthesizer

via this auction

"The Cwejman S1 Mk II is a semi-modular synthesizer with unique sound circuity. It is not just another copy of synthesizers from the past. Its high performance and flexibility not only give musicians the ability to create classic "vintage sounds", but also sounds that are completely unique and have never been heard before.

The Cwejman S1 is an instrument for the true musician that allows the freedom to shape the sound as needed. It is patchable for tremendous flexibility and has an open interface, so everything is immediately accessible - not hidden in submenus.

Semi-Modular Synthesizer
"Semi" modular means that all functions and modules (oscillators, generators, filters, etc.) are linked. The synthesizer is preconfigured, but the configuration can be changed at will. All signals can be used as sounds or modulation sources and all parameters: pitch, pulse width, volume, resonance, etc., can be modulated from any source. Imagine the creative opportunities waiting for you inside this instrument!

Warm and powerful sound
The most unique feature of the product is the sound processing circuits that produce the unmistakable Cwejman Sound: a warm, fat, and genuine analogue sound.

Sound quality is consistent and powerful, especially in the bass register. The Cwejman S1 has a distinct sound and packs enormous possibility in a compact package.

The Cwejman S1 sound circuits are unique, using a proprietary design. The sound is characterized by the same punch, bottom and consistent sound found in vintage analog treasures - but the S1 also has the ability to sound completely different."

Cwejman S1 Mk2 Analog Semi Modular Synth

via this auction

"some of the highlights of this synth:

Oscillators
These 3 super-precise oscillators don't drift unless you ask them to. By injecting a little modulation, you can get some wonderful vintage warmth. Or you can keep the modern stability. They have a wide frequency range. When you use one oscillator to FM another, you get some truly musical effects. Oscillator 1 doubles as a voltage-controllable low frequency oscillator.

LFO
One of the coolest, and least-known features of the LFO is the doubling of speed that happens in the Sawtooth and Ramp modes. With the voltage control offered, you can use it as an audio VCO. The LFO also offers a couple cool gated modes.

Filters
For me, the most attractive aspect of the synth was the incredible filter section. The Lowpass filter is switchable between 4-pole (-24db) and 6-pole (-36db) modes, as well as a band-pass mode. The Multimode filter is switchable between 2, 4, and 6 poles, and Highpass, Bandpass, and Lowpass modes. (The Bandpass actually uses 1, 2, and 3 poles.)

You can use these filters in parallel or series for some incredible sound-shaping. With all the different filter topologies offered, the subtractive synthesis capabilities of the S1Mk2 are nearly unparalled among semi-modular synths. It is truly amazing to be able to select between buzzy 2-pole and deep-bite 6 pole modes. And when you run them in series, you can get up to 12 pole mode (-72 db!). A truly deadly filter bite! Couple that with the hyper-snappy envelopes and you have a synth with some of the deadliest teeth you will ever encounter.

Each filter has a 5-input mixer. Each filter can take one external signal.

Envelopes
Speaking of the envelopes, the two envelopes on this synth are incredible. They are super-fast, excellent for percussion sounds. With the fast speeds, you are able to get sounds with this synth impossible in vintage instruments. However, these envelopes are easily capable of the slower times of older synths. Also, they both include a Delay stage. This is a pause between the gate-on and the Attack stage. When both envelopes are used together, and one is delayed, pseudo-delay effects are possible.

Both of the identical DADSR envelopes are completely controllable. They have voltage control inputs for each stage. This allows you to mimic the acoustic properties of real-world instruments. There is a switch for linear/exponential modes. There are positive and negative outputs.

I should mention a couple issues:
There is some slight bleedthrough of oscillators 1 and 2 into mixer outputs 1 and 2, respectively. Not noticeable at typical levels, really only if you are using the mixer as your main output..."

Analogue Solutions Telemark Meets Doepfer & Greets Kraftwerk

Telemark Easter Monday Fun.wmv

YouTube Uploaded by jakobsweb on Apr 25, 2011

"The wonderful Analogue Solutions Telemark filter modulated by 2 Doepfer A-155 sequencers, gate by Telemark, triggered by Cubase 6;
accompanied by a pad from the Roland JX 8-P, bass by A-100 modular and drums by Vermona DRM1 MKIII.
All done with a friendly wink at rezfilter who inspired me a lot .... (still waiting for my Oberkorn)"

Telemark meets Doepfer

Uploaded by jakobsweb on Mar 13, 2011

"This is a song made with my very new synthesizer Telemark by Analogue Solutions. It's semi-modular and thus goes very well with my other modular and semi-modular stuff. The intro sound is done with the Telemark as well as another later on. It has a great sounding 12db multimode filter.
The other stuff I used in this song are: two Doepfer A-100 systems, Cwejman S1 MK2, DSI Prophet 08, Vermona analog drums DRM1 MKIII, Moog Voyager ... and a lil' drumloop ... all arranged, mixed and mastered using Cubase 6 and some Waves plug-ins. Feel free and invited to comment or ask questions. Enjoy!

Here is a list of some of the Doepfer A-100 modules that I used in case you are interested:
A-111 (3x), A-108, A-140, A-141, A-143-1, A-143-2, A-143-3, A-183-2, A-121, A-110 (3x), A-188-1, A-130, A-131, A-138a, A-138b, A-138m, A-151, A-180, A-134 (2x), A-181 (2x)
The Telemark was modulated by Doepfer A-147 (VC-LFO) - 2 times via multiple.
The Cwejman's LFO was gate triggered by the Doepfer A-160 clock divider."

Jomox XBase 888 as a Sequencer w/ Cwejman S1 MkII

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Yes, the Jomox 888 (and 999) analog drum machine has a built-in MIDI sequencer. In this video we're sequencing the uber-powerful Cwejman S1 Mk2 semi-modular synthesizer. Love that filter! It is possible to change your sequences on the fly (with a little practice;), making the XBase a great performance piece.

Cwejman S1 MK2

images via this auction

"some of my favorite things: 7 different waveforms on the oscillators, FM on the oscillators, 7 octaves on the osc., PWM on 4 types of the waveforms, run the filters in parallel or series, the BEST filters i have ever worked with :LPF is 24/36 dB with LP and BP and the MMF is 12/24/36dB with LP/HP/BP, both self oscillate. They both easily overdrive with high inputs."

Cwejman S1 MK2: DJ Puzzle Examines A Semi-Modular Monophonic

YouTube via DjPuzzle73
"DJ Puzzle, known to his parents as Jason Donnelly, starts this video off by pronouncing one of the most awkward looking brand names in synthesis before showing us how to make a sine wave bassline with the Cwejman S1 MK2.

I made a sine wave bassline in second grade art class out of glue, macaroni, and glitter, but if you prefer to make them with semi-modular, monophonic, analog synths, you should probably stop reading this and watch the video.

Seriously, you have no choice because this is the last sentence."
