"Typically we use a Pulse to generate individual random notes via CV from the 266r Quantized Random Voltage section....... Synth Tech E950 Patch with DIY Buchla 200

"Set up an odd-time signature patch on the DIY Buchla 200r..... Using the new Synthesis Technology E950 'Circuit Bent VCO'.

The E950 is a combo whacky wavetable VCO that contains licensed tech from the original Texas Instruments LPC speech synthesizers (plus a pile of other amazing wavetables from the E350).

Basically a Speak & Spell from outer-space!

This was my 1st test patch.... what a great sounding module .... Complex timbres of nearly unlimited variation are possible.

"Playing around - decided to chain up a DIY 200r + Buchla Easel + EML 200 together, and this happened.

EML = 2x VCO's, Low Pass Filter and Reverb

Easel = Pulser, Sequencer and preset voltages from 218e

200r = 281r, 292r, 277r (delay), 256r (voltage mixing), 207r (mixer and preamp).

Buchla Easel Custom Card Noise VCF and Delay

"Made a custom Program card for my Music Easel. I used 3x Korg 'Little Bits' modules: Noise, VCF and Delay.

Powered from the card, audio patched into the external signal input of the Easel.

Should be great Sci-fi fun!

Classic Buchla 200 Patch - 258 FM

"Classic Buchla 200 Patch: 258r FM via 292r

I was patching yesterday, and I cannot believe that I have not ever tried this exact patch:

- 258 top section sine out to final mixer
- 258 lower section sine out into 292 A set to "combo"
- 292 A output back into 258 top section FM input (258 FM knob open 100%)
- 281 A section, set to loop - send the pulse out to ping the 292 CH A

experiment with different frequencies of the 258 sections..... also cool, send the same looping 281 A to clock a 266 random sequence..... or to a 245/246 .... or a S&H ... whatever.

CLASSIC tones here !"

CV Conversion via 257r Buchla DIY

"Very quick example of using a 257r Dual Voltage Processor module to convert and scale 1V/oct CV from a Serge... into a 1.2V/oct Buchla format scale.

It works - it's easy - just don't bump your knobs !! :)

277r Delay Testing August 2015 - Buchla DIY

"Finished building a Buchla format 277r Digital Delay. Set up a neat patch that focused on extremely short delays that are feeding back - which creates 'pitched flanging' efx. Used the 266r as set of random voltages into a 258r and back into the 277r. A 281r is the clock, and all audio passed through 292r LPG's - then some of the 292r mix out passed through a 275r reverb. Serge Patch: RING MOD & 2X PVCO INTO VCFS

"This is what 2x Precision VCO's into Ring Mod, through the Variable Slope VCF (LPF out) can sound like.

The random sequence was created by the Smooth Stepped Generator using 2x DUSG (top and bottom of a single module) for clock and CV source. Using attenuation (via Scaling Buffers & Active Processor) I was able to have the SSG also mildly modify the clock speed of the DUSG.

Mono out for this patch..... through a Strymon Blue Sky Reverb.

Better audio this time :) I really wanted to share just how beautiful the Serge Ring Modulator and PVCO Sine Waves can sound... just amazing, and 100% real ANALOG!
