Brüel & Kjaer multiplexer from ESA makes test equipment music
Published on Jan 2, 2020 HAINBACH
"In which I show the musical application of the Brüel & Kjaer 2811 Multiplexer that was used by a European Space Agency lab before.
I have been using switches in my music for a long time - the Doepfer A-151 is one of my favorite Eurorack modular synthesizer modules. In test equipment, oscilloscope switches helped in automating note or rhythm sequences. When I discovered the 2811 on my visit to @LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER I was impressed by the musical possibilities. Luckily, eBay came through and I got a unit that was in use at the ESTEC space research centre in the Netherlands before.
The multiplexer enables eight step sequencing of audio signals, which is a game changer for test equipment music. Its fun and playable and would probably be even nice to have in VST form.

Sunday Modular Jam 7 - "Start to Fly" (Sub 37, Andromeda A6, Digitakt, Model D, TR-8, minilogue)
Published on Feb 24, 2019 Magmar
"Magmar's first Jam in 2019 featuring Miriamo and her poetry. The track consists of 2 main parts. We'd call the style Melodic Techno, but some say it sounds Trance-like. Ableton Push is used to send clock as well as basic MIDI chords to the Alesis Andromeda and the arp notes for the Moog Sub 37. Beats come from the internal sequencers of the Roland TR-8 and Elektron Digitakt. Intro and outro hat-like sound are from the dreadbox Drips, which is mixed on the MakeNoise Optomix with the Pittsburgh Modular Synth Lifeforms SV-1 through a XAOC Belgrad filter and MS Dual Looping Delay.

Nice To Be In Orbit (feat. Analog Rytm, Analog Four and NASA)
Published on Oct 31, 2014 Erwin Dorleijn
"Getting behind the controls of Elektron's spaceships, the Analog Rytm and Analog Four for 'Nice To Be In Orbit', a tribute to NASA who released lots of audio footage a few weeks ago. I downloaded some of them and loaded them into the Analog Rytm."
Perfect timing. In case you missed it, via https://blogs.nasa.gov/spacestation/: "The Soyuz TMA-15M carrying Terry Virts of NASA, Anton Shkaplerov of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Samantha Cristoforetti of the European Space Agency safely docked to the International Space Station at 9:48 p.m. EST on Sunday [today!]. The crew launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 4:01 p.m. EST."
Samantha Cristoforetti is the first female Italian astronaut and the third female astronaut in the ESA.
