2084 - a 92bpm cirklon groove for eurorack synthesizer

video by Luke Killen

"This is either roughing up a smooth groove or softening a rough beat.
I kind of liked the 808 State Cubik like stabs in a 'retro futurist' kind of way, so i decided to juxtapose it with a smoother groove."

In this performance the Cirklon sequences everything. The G2 has kick and Snare on A, Claps, percussion and hats on B, FM synthesis on C and FX and processing on D slot."

Live Patterns 2018 - a 21 minute selection of Cirklon scenes for a live performance 2018

Published on Aug 26, 2018 Luke Killen

"I played a short live set in Sydney this weekend. My last video was of the first quarter of the patterns which i've developed over the last few weeks, but there are a lot more, so decided that i'd string together the rest of the patterns which made to cut.

The set was only half an hour so i made about 20 minutes worth of patterns so i could linger and dub on certain sections.

There is no lingering and dubbing in this video just a string of scenes.

The setup is Cirklon sequencing a Eurorack Synthesiser and Clavia G2 modular synthesiser."

"Welcome to Noises Off the second in the Modularism series. A collection of tracks devoted to the modular synthesizer and featuring 30 artist new to the collection.
In recent years we have seen a revitalisation and explosion of creativity in this area from both manufacturers and musicians – a return to these endlessly customisable, generative, idiosyncratic voltage controllable machines in order to create and perform music by a new generation, for a new generation.

In this edition we have ensured greater focus on
the use of modular instruments in creating the
music. The continuing journey to uncover more remarkable practitioners has so far involved rocking up a modular meets, countless hours of trawling the web and, social media platforms as well as following up all those priceless recommendations. The quest, from the point of conception, is to showcase the diverse spectrum of modular music and unending creative approaches by users of modular synthesis.
