Reverb used on this demo is same settings Specular Tempus 70s plate.

This wasn't a planned custom pack, I originally ordered the @GSMusicArg e7 just to try it out. However, it is quite safe to say that this synth really has blown me away!!

The synth has so much character, it honestly sounds like "the good old days"! Very Memorymoog, but with some hints of OB Sizzle , it's Lovely!

Needless to say, the e7 is now firmly remaining in my collection, it has warmth, depth, low end, fizz, and just sings! I absolutely love it.

I thoroughly enjoyed programming this lovely synth, and I look forward to getting back on with Volume 2 in the future!

This is a chilled downtempo track that was inspired purely from the e7 saw, it's just mind blowing how powerful its saw is. all synth parts in this track are from e7.

I have now completed the first bank for the GS Music e7, and this synth really is something special! so much inspiration can be drawn from it, it truly has what i believe to be the fattest sounding saw in my studio.

This track is minimal, simplistic in its form but the e7 just made it come together, but that SAW!!! wow!!

fair to say, I love what ‪@GSMusicArg‬ have done with this!

Novation Summit - SM Plucked Keys (Orano patch) - "Pirate's Beach"

Could pass for a guitar sound, do you think? Credit to Orano's patch again, some reverb from the flashback and hall of fame, subtle reverb and delay on the Summit, I know I know.. why not just use one or the other. Well, it's convenient to alternate, the HoF and FB pedals are primarily not adjusted as it's also sent thru my mixer as an FX channel for other instruments. Enjoy.

Novation Summit - "Aisle" - Multi Mode - 1. SM 5th Sense 2. Sm Who's Afraid (Orano's single patches)

Credit to Orano's Novation Summit single patches, I split them in multi mode, as you'll usually see me do. In this improvisation I'm playing with the delay timing effects on the #2 patch while playing pad on the #1. The onboard delay and reverb effects gives instant breaths for your creative atmospheres.

Novation Summit - "Legendary Keys" - Solo Piano - Multi Mode

I like taking the same single patch and splitting them between both the A and B sections. There are a few minor tweaks between the two sections of course, the A section I'll use for solo piano playing with some slight filter manipulations while the B section is mainly conducting the arp in the play tick on the arp knob, this basically follows the key strokes and does a catch up, so to say, as there is also delay and feedback being added for dynamic effect. I like being able to create an immersivity effect to keep me going in my solo playing. The Summit never fails to conveniently produce this very basic task.

Since OBS has fixed their NDI plugin, it's less work around for me to set up these recordings again. Thanks for listening. appreciate any comments or tips for solo piano playing and any other recommendations to help me along this Summit playing journey.

Prophet REV2 - Harsh? Bland? Static? Lifeless? - Really??

Note Orano Music has done demos for the Sequential OB-6, OB-X8, Prophet-6, Prophet-5/10, and Trigon-6, as well as the Novation Summit and Moog One as seen in previous posts here.

"I have read so many reviews about the REV2 being too 'static', 'lifeless', 'harsh' 'Brittle' and so on...

The REV2 is an extremely capable synth, and with some careful programming can compete with the best of them.

This Patch has no effects, nothing, it is completely dry. and to me sounds very organic, full of character, and very analog indeed. This was not using any analog modelling techniques, doesn't use the step sequencer for variants. which if used would make it sound even more analog! (if that's possible)

in a nutshell, the REV2 requires some work to achieve the same results as you would get from its upper range counterparts, but talk about value for money, this synth is very impressive!

if in doubt, grab one!

And yes I used the arp from the Trigon-6 a couple of times, I understand the P5 / 10 doesn't have an arp, but it lets you all hear how certain plucks etc will sound arpeggiated. :)

To keep the Preview / Demo Videos as honest & transparent as possible, I have used only UAD Dimension D chorus (only for stereo width) and a tiny bit of reverb. If a video with effects would be preferred, just let me know and I'll repost with decent amounts of Chorus, reverb & delays etc."

This was put together by popular demand, and a custom bank I was unsure if I would ever do. The Prophet 5 / 10 was always a hesitant buy for me, due to it's mono output, but boy was I wrong, and I am so glad I took the plunge and grabbed the Prophet 10! this synth has got to be one if not the best synth I've ever owned, it is remarkable! This is the first P5 / 10 custom pack from me but most certainly will not be the last! :)

The bank (which has ended up a labour of love), is one where I didn't go searching to see who and what songs the synth has been used in, but a custom bank of sounds that came straight from the heart and head. The pack is full of Gorgeous Pads, Emotive Keys. Fat and Funky Basses, Leads, Plucks, etc all full of analog goodness!

The bank has been freshly baked using the latest firmware 2.0.4 which adds some amazing features to the P5 / 10 rev4! more control with aftertouch and velocity, Q Compensation which thickens up the higher resonant sounds (similar to bass compensation) adds a nice bit of punch!

Please ensure to have 2.0.4 (or higher) on your P5 / 10. to take full advantage of these great new features!

Prophet 5 / Prophet 10 Rev4 - Adagio for Strings - OS 2.0.4 Expressivity Test

This OS allows users to fine tune aftertouch and velocity for much more musical use of both. it is saveable per patch too! along with this they have added Q Compensation / Control, which is similar to bass compensation but allows more of the original signal / body through on higher resonance patches, gives much more punch and body to pads / leads / basses etc.

this isn't a walkthrough, it was merely to show how even more expressive the P5 & 10 can now be! just stunning!
