Admin: Update on Video Hangs and 15 Posts Per Page

There is a possible solution to the video hanging bug in this post. I also received a few comments on the site taking too long to load. This is obviously due to the number of posts coming in each day. I had the main page set to two days worth of posts. I've been averaging close to thirty posts a day. Two days worth of this is just too much. Because of this I've set the limit to fifteen posts on the main page. To get to older posts just click on the "Older Posts" link at the bottom of each page. I will not be reducing the amount I put up, so be sure to click the link if you do not miss anything. Also, to keep the page from getting too long I changed the Archive section on the right to a drop down list. Feel free to comment.
Update: I also added a SYNTH BABES link on the top of the site. Before anyone takes offense to the tag, understand it is a bit in jest. Just scroll through the posts and you will see. It's meant to be vague and subject to a number of interpretations of the label. I'll just leave it at that. We are all adults, right? Well, maybe not some of us. :)
Update: I'm going to try 15 posts on the main page for now instead of 20.

David Byrne: Playing the Building

via BoingBoing TV. It's interesting how the keyboard is the chosen interface. It's somewhat symbolic to how MOOG chose the keyboard as the interface for his synthesizers all those years ago.
"Music legend David Byrne transforms an entire NYC building into a giant musical instrument, and Xeni joins him inside for a BBtv tour.

Playing the Building is Byrne's latest sonic innovation, and morphs the century-old Battery Maritime Building into a clanging, vibrating sound sculpture. In this installation, the former Talking Heads co-founder blurs the boundaries between the creators and consumers of culture. He explains:

Devices [have been] attached to the building's structure — to the metal beams and pillars, the heating pipes, the water pipes — and are used to make these things produce sound. The activations are of three types: wind, vibration, striking. The devices cause the building elements to vibrate, resonate and oscillate so that the building itself becomes a very large musical instrument.

Byrne sees music as deeply embedded within the natural sounds that surround us every day, and believes "anyone can be a writer, artist, or musician if they want to."

Playing the Building continues through August 10, 2008 at 10 South Street, New York, NY; open every Friday through Sunday, noon - 6pm. Admission is free of charge." Boing Boing
