"I’ve been tinkering with the code on Zira (TSKAPW - The Synth Formally Known As PicoWave), I just have the boot loader/MIDI Sysex update code to modify and test before Synth DIY. I’ll try and get around to recording some more audio examples and uploading them soon.

A few people have asked if this will trun into a kit, alas it can’t because of the use of an NJM2069 however, I do plan on using a lot of the technologies and methods to make something similar but using a none OEM filter, this will be available as a kit, but not until this is complete."

Concieved, designed, constructed by Manuel "Wesen" Odendahl of techno duo Ruin & Wesen, allows 100% "funtime live control" of virtually any MIDI based music device and beyond. Based on an Arduino microprocessor and open source firmware, one can actually recalibrate the device to tailor to one's own pleasure. I'd love to do this, but I think I lack the time and brain capacity.

Roland DDR-30 Digital Drums Module Demo

"Quick demo of an often forgotten Roland digital drum module. With nice & crunchy (I'm guessing 12 bit) PCM samples, Roland entered the electronic drum market with the DDR30. While limited with only kick, snare and 4 toms, the DDR-30 offers several sound samples for each drum (including acoustic, Simmons-style electronic and timpanis) and many options for tailoring the sounds to your needs with pitch, amp envelope & EQ. It can also serve as a pad-to-MIDI converter for triggering other MIDI instrumennts.
In this demo, I go through the 32 drum kits that were stored in this module (not sure if they're factory kits or not) while being triggered by a rhythm pattern on my Roland Fantom X6. It might be hard to hear on your crap-top speakers, but this module really kicks. I think Infomation Society used one on their eponymous album - I'd have to check my copy of the CD+G that has their equipment list."
