The Drumssette by Mystery Circuits

"The Drumssette is a programmable drum machine built using a Tascam four track cassette recorder. The sounds of the drums come right off the prerecorded cassette tape, and those sounds also clock the sixteen step sequencer inside. As the cassette plays, rhythms can be mapped out on the switch interface."

You'll find the full details including additional video on Mystery Circuits.

Hemisphere Games Osmos for the iPad Now Available

I have a copy and I have to say it is quite magical. Both the audio and the visuals are mesmerizing. Note this is not a synthesizer. Ambient tracks play in the background as you propel your "mote" through various levels. This is one beautifully addictive game. If you have an iPad, this is a no brainer, just get it.

Update: If you do not have or plan to get an iPad you can find Osmos for the PC, Mac and Linux here. I should also note Mat Jarvis, one of the people behind Osmos also brought us Gas 0095 featured in a number of posts here.

"Running the second prototype of the MakeNoise René sequencer. This one is green, not the beautiful black, gold, and white of the production version. Just running a simple patch using MATHS for envelopes Doepfer A-110 VCO and A-130 VCA. Using X and Y clock inputs provided by A-160 clock divider clocked by the MakeNoise Wogglebug."

Octave-Plateau Voyetra 8

via this auction
"The Voyetra 8 is a rare polyphonic analog synthesizer manufactured in New York City during the heyday of the Jupiters, Prophets, Moogs, etc. It’s unique sound comes from matching Curtis oscillators with SSM filters, resulting in a character similar to the early SSM-based Prophet 5s but also having a raw edge associated with the Curtis oscillators. Further description is easily found on the Internet. This particular unit is a full version 4 (latest version) in both hardware and software including the fan on the backside and MIDI specs associated with the final version."
