PAIA 7700 Vintage Synth Variable Power Supply

via this auction

"PAIA 7700 rack-mount power supply originally sold as an upgrade for PAIA’s 6700/7700 Series analog synthesizers & studio equipment. It takes up two rack spaces, is rated at 1-amp output, has a front-accessible fuse holder, and is specifically designed for vintage PAIA gear.

This is a perfectly functioning built-up kit that contains all original stock PAIA parts except for the power cord, which I upgraded from PAIA’s flimsy zipcord.

Outputs

Two fixed internal connectors (see photo) that each have +15V & -15V outputs
Two ¼-inch front-panel jacks that respectively provide variable + & - control voltages. Knobs let you continuously adjust the front outputs up to +/- 15V. Internal thumbwheel pots also let you vary the maximum value of + & - voltages from about 9V to about 16.7V.
Because this is a kit, it’s relatively easy to replace these jacks with other types of connectors."

SynthTronica for iPad - Refracted Twilight

YouTube Uploaded by SynthTronica on May 15, 2011

"'refracted twilight' is a track created live with SynthTronica. A twenty second groove taken from Richard Devine's remix of BT's "Le nocturne de lumière" was used as a "formant", a time varying filter, within SynthTronica. Any sound can be used as a formant; while much of the sound's rhythmic character will remain, you provide the pitches or "notes" yourself.

"Hi lovely Synthfolks, this is a new improvisation with my lovely Synths like Berlin old school. Froese (Tangerine dream) or Schulze are my favorits. Sorry, my dog Susi is 13 not 30;-)))

I use two sequencers, one of the Synthesizers.com and the GRP A 8Sequencer. Effects comes from the Juno 60 and Doepfer Dark Energy. Leads comes from the Minimoog. Accords comes from the Roland V-Synth."

"This might be of interest to anyone currently tossed on the horns of the dilemma that is: 'Do I buy the Dr. Synth now, or carry on saving up my pennies until I can afford the brand new Roland XP-10 and benefit from having a built in keyboard?'"
