Click on this pic and look at the blue Roland logo. It's either blue on white, slightly raised, or both. Note the white Roland logo and JX-8P look flush.
"There can be many different sounds in the mixer section at once. Each sound source (noise, vco 1, vco 2, ring mod, audio input) can be routed separately to either of the two filters or directly to VCA. Has stereo outputs, mono output, headphone out (which distorts beautifully) and audio input. Also CV / gate ins and outs as well as expression input. They work well with other synths (used and tested)."
"A cut down Cat, but no less brilliant sounding synthesizer built by the NY company Octave in the late seventies. Features very nice sounding feature rich VCO and the legendary SSM2044 filter. Very similar layout to the Arp Oddesey, so much that they were sued for it."
"The 1550 is a unique sounding string synth. It has a bright, shimmering quality that is very pretty. It also has a very unusual chorus sound. You could have every other string synth and still not have one that sounds like the Paia."
