"Quick and Dirty patch featuring the EliKing Light sensitive delay soda-POP can and a mildly modded TR-606 drum machine with individual outs.
Wanted to see how the EMS AKS handles audio through the Hi Input channels.
TR 606 outputs:
Snare massaged then to Roland RE-201 Space Echo.
Hihats to EliKing Light sensitive delay soda-POP can.
HiTom Trigger out to AKS #1 (Hi Input Ch.2)
Headphone out to AKS #2 (Hi Input Ch.2)
Main output to AKS #1 (Hi Input Ch.1)
Steiner-Crumar Masters Touch breath controlled resonant analog filter and CV controller puts out voltage from breath, bite and touch. Sooo much fun had the Breath Transducer going out to AKS #2 (Hi Input Ch.1).Only stinky breath is used in this vid!!! No bite or touch.
AKS #2s Signal Output goes into the wet and juicy Crumar filter."

John Macedo | Double Pendulum Music

John Macedo | Double Pendulum Music from John Macedo | The Black Plume on Vimeo.

"Double Pendulum Music is an autonomous installation, nonlinearity and chaos are explored sonically (chaotic sound synthesis) and visually (chaotic motion). Establishing itself somewhere between generative composition and kinetic sculpture, the chaotic motion of a double pendulum is used as a source of uncertainty to create chaotic harmonic and rhythmic auditory events in real-time. The natural laws at work create complex aural and visual behaviour from simple interactions. As a result, the events heard and seen are never the same twice, making Double Pendulum Music a celebration of unpredictability and sensitivity.

Sound Synthesis realised in the SuperCollider programming language. Recorded at Modes sound exhibition, Truman Brewery London, 5th June 2011

Aleph Null - Wonky Tenori-onky

"Late night live jam with my Yamaha Tenori-on, recorded ~1AM, 5th July, 2011.

Not recommended for those allergic to synthetic cowbells.

Well, yeah, I've had the TR-808, TR-606 and mouth samples loaded into my TNR-W for years so it's about time I did something with them. And it's also good to force oneself to escape the seductive low-tempo ambient Tenori-on habit where most of it's sounds sit most comfortably, idly noodling along at 70 bpm. This is what resulted.

I don't know why the video glitches occasionally - I recorded the laptop's webcam with PhotoBooth - but I like it. Audio was taken directly from the Tenori-on into the MacBook Pro's audio input where Ableton Live was waiting to gobble it up. No post-processing was applied other than tweaking the level and a touch of soft compression & limiting. Monitoring was done through my Grado SR80i headphones, again plugged straight into the MacBook Pro's built-in audio output.

That's about as minimal a gear load-out as I can get without twitching. Oh wait, I guess a Yamaha BC1 breath controller should also be included as I used it to prop the laptop up at an effective angle for it's iSIght to catch all the high-octane point-and-poke 'action.'"
